Re: Zero Season 4, Episode 8 - Spoiler Warning WELL, HERE WE GO. WE FINALLY BEGIN VOLUME 23. AND WHAT. A. FUCKING. EPISODE. IT WAS. LIKE, WOW. THE PERFECT WAY TO START WHAT IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE VOLUMES. The episode starts off by lulling you into a false sense of security, with Subaru excited to have been isekai'd. The first half did the job well of getting Subaru up to speed, as in the novel, conveying each character's emotions including Ram confronting Subaru. That was done extremely well. But man. Then the second half. The second half is so, so, SO GOOD. I don't want to spoil too much, but the direction builds up to the moment where Subaru is killed for the first time by being pushed down the stairs after trying to unlock a cheat ability. Then he Returns by Death, and thinks he's having precognitive dreams, like in the novel. But the subtle shift in atmosphere, omg. The way the episode begins to show Subaru becoming isolated from the rest of the group, especially when he overhears Ram and the others talking behind his back. It's sublime. AND THEN WHEN HE IS PUSHED DOWN THE STAIRS A SECOND TIME. NAH. YOU GUYS ARE SERIOUSLY NOT READY FOR IT. IT WAS BRUTAL. THE EPITOME OF "RUINS". AND THE WAY YOU HEAR NOT JUST THE VOICES OF THOSE HE'D OVERHEARD BUT ALSO RUI'S VOICE SAYING "MEMORIES ARE WHAT SHAPE PEOPLE." 10/10. And then when he Returns by Death, holy shit. It conveys his sheer panic to perfection. It's just a complete rollercoaster, both the scene of Reid fondling his heart with his chopsticks and then the Witch of Envy heart-grabbing him after. I just can't even put it into words, man. And of course we get Subaru thinking about the cups scene too!!!! Insane voice acting. Insane boarding. The episode ends with Subaru attempting to leave the tower, with an extra anime-only scene showing Shaula about to transform, due to the tower rule being broken. Opening plays. No ending. The episode is technically extended by around 20 seconds. Title: WHO ARE YOU My rating: 9.25/10

@JanchoRZ I hope they also add some tiny flashbacks of subaru running upstairs and then taking reid book(+ hall of memories) but make it less noticable so its not a spoiler just like the flashback of subaru “I will definitely save you” that appeared in the convenience store s1.

I will glaze Shinohara so much if the next episode starts with a re:animation of the convenience store scene and a transition similar to this edit. And if “Redo” plays after Whobaru screams about the summoning, you will never see the end of me. I trust they will nail Volume 23.

i implore rezero readers to do their best to keep it in their pants next week. there will naturally be apprehension and criticism towards the events of ep7, but i think it is important to let them experience it for themselves rather than feeling like you have to 'correct' them

Re: Zero Season 4, Episode 7 - Spoiler Warning Well, this is the big one. This is the episode where most consider Arc 6 truly to start. Honestly, I don't know what to type up for this one. The first half is fine, just building up to the balcony scene. Now, when it comes to the balcony adaptation, that was done pretty well. Though I felt the level of eeriness and suspense was still conveyed better in the novels, there were some really cool stuff, such as conveying how robotic the birds feel with an awesome first person POV shot of one of them gazing at Eridna and Subaru! The birds by the way are not like their Light Novel description, but follow Otsuka's versions. And man, the voice acting during this scene was fantastic and we did get some awesome shots of the tower under the night sky. Now for what's most anticipated. The big twist at the end. Honestly, I felt like they could have done much more with it. It just felt routine and I feel like while for anime-onlies it'll definitely be a WTF moment, it may feel a bit lacking to novel readers. This is just my own opinion, though, don't take it as gospel. The episode adapts right to the end of Volume 22, ending at Subaru's "I'VE BEEN SUMMONED INTO A PARALLEL WORLD!?", with Subaru striking a similar pose as he did in S1E1 when he said those words. Not an extended length episode. No opening. Ending plays as normal straight after the line above. Title: Coming out of the Convenience Store, There was a Wonderous World

Next episode Subaru will removes that cloak even though it was supposed to be earlier, I wonder if emilia will also switch to her season 1 clothes.

Best sin archbishop but I think his character in season 3 was handled differently to how I though he would be while watching season 2, he was made to more like a joke rather then a real threat, Subaru didn’t even die once against him which make things worse.
