We didn't post about her often, but did you know about Miya's sister Lilly? Miya & Lilly were kind of frenemies, which was 100% Miya's fault bc she didn't really like other cats much. 😬 But they made temporary peace occasionally to nap together on the couch.

CW pet death My beloved companion Miya, known to you all as Hydration Cat, passed away peacefully on May 31st, 2022. We spent a beautiful day lounging in the sunny backyard with her before saying goodbye. It is hard to tweet about this. I will miss her forever.

i didn't know until now. it's so hard to see stories of the final days of our besties. it's been 9 months since i lost franko and i am reminded i'm not done grieving yet when i burst into tears out of nowhere. anyway just want to send love out to all cats and their humans now 🤍

Another Miya story: she used to love crawling under the covers at night to steal our body heat, which resulted in one of my favorite pictures of all time. She was an artistic genius, Magritte is crying and shaking in his grave.

Some of you asked for stories from Miya's life... Miya's profile picture is one of the first photos I ever took of her. I was in my early 20s and living with her out of one room in my parents' house, physically and mentally unwell. Her companionship changed my life.

@Emperor_Dave 😞 I'm sorry you're also going through this. It's so hard, there are no words for it really. I'm sure you and your wife gave her a beautiful life full of love. 💕 I think that is the only comfort I've felt so far, that I did everything I could to return the comfort she gave me.
