@JoshFerme People scoff at you clubs but in the old England they worked very well as instead of hanging about you'd be playing table tennis or pool and the youth workers knew all the kids and who were the problem ones etc.
English

The government is actually doing the meme of building more youth clubs.

@nigstnguemyanus @libertarian_TN @helcaboyakh Rather than using a convenient word i should have phrased it
"state controlled trading and production"
English

@nigstnguemyanus @libertarian_TN @helcaboyakh Yeah which isn't capitalism. It's closer to socialism as it's state controlled and lacks private ownership, running a business under that system is more like being a proxy of the government who gets replaced if you do anything wrong.

Show me 1, just 1 country that developed this fast under capitalism?

🇨🇳 China is direct proof that Communism works.

@ClownWorld They just need to actually work out their overheads including wages and price the food appropriately. No need for arbitrary service charges and tip can be done as the customer feels is right
English

@AyhanSipahi @vivek_1052 UK predominantly uses metric for legal purposes, couple of exceptions where Imperial remains, eg road distances, getting a pint in the pub

@Raven_Vtube Can't tell if this is serious or engagement bait

@tanpukunokami Raw egg being an issue is mostly an American problem bcos they wash the protective layer off their eggs

There's a Japanese breakfast
that the rest of the world hates.
This.
Hot rice.
Raw egg.
Soy sauce.
Mix. Eat.
It's called Tamago Kake Gohan — TKG.
Literally: "Egg on Rice."
The internet's reaction:
"Raw egg? That's disgusting."
"You'll get sick."
"Absolutely not."
Shut up and try it first.
The egg melts into the hot rice,
gets silky and creamy,
and the soy sauce hits you
with that perfect umami.
Come to Japan and try it.
It'll change your life.

English

@libertarian_TN @helcaboyakh It's not capitalism or communism they're effectively Fascism having state controlled capitalism
English

@David__Osland I already expect to never get one as the age will have gone beyond reasonable expectations or the economy will have buckled beyond any ability to pay one
English

@CJ_liberte @KTHopkins Given how many we have already it seems like the government has already answered that question

@Nanaakua1 An adapted subject cannot command the same authority as a native who has inherited millennia of lineage.
This is the perennial way of the world outside the liberal bubble.
People are agitated because they feel the impropriety but lack the articulation to address it.

@NE_Hants_Reform @cagnamartyr @BrexitDuck Never thought I'd see the day that the Reform party used left-wing tropes by accusing people of being racist.
I think this post will come back to haunt them.

Why is that pensioners fault and not the doing of repeated failed governments?
The mines were closed, manufacturing and jobs were sent abroad, banks bailed, money printed, endless wars fought, covid measures, Climate bollox, foreign aid, mass migration and bureaucracy galore.
I don't see a malnourished nation on the high street. I see a lack of pride, shame and hope.
My daughter didn't go to uni, even though she was offered an unconditional place at an excellent campus. I thought she was stupid at the time, but she lived at home, got herself a minimum wage job, worked through the employment market, paid a nominal rent and saved 12 grand in 2 years. She met a nice guy whom she married recently and bought a house with her savings as the deposit.
She cut her coat according to her cloth.

What makes a pensioner more deserving of protection from market forces than, say, a young family?
Sophie Corcoran@sophielouisecc
No. I don’t think pensioners should have to sell their houses to retire
English

@GargoyleBeelz @SandyofSuffolk Image where they'd be if you hadn't annihilated the economy and society, actually handed them things in the same or better state than you had it rather than the worst it's been pretty much since the war.
English

@SandyofSuffolk I bet half of them whinging about this still live in their parents house and have never paid tax let alone pay into a private pension.
Entitled, lazy little brats
English

Younger generation to pensioners: "Why didn't you save more into a private pension?"
Because most women stayed at home to look after your mums and dads and so didn't earn anything, let alone save anything.
And your granddads were struggling to pay the 14% mortgage rates.
And any 'pin' money your nans earned from little part time jobs was spent spoiling you on days out at the seaside, birthdays and Christmas and slipping your mum and dad a few quid on the sly when they were a bit hard up.
Just so you know.
