You will become immediately immune to our present flurry of confusion when you keep ever in mind that the man in charge has articulated, planned, revised, and iterated on his vision for the country for 40 years, and that louder portion of his main detractors have been "thinking" about any of these issues for all of 14 seconds.

When I criticize Nintendo, I get the most angry replies Ex: "YOU HAVE SHIT TASTE IN GAMES! 2D 30FPS IS COOL! When I criticize PS, I get the most cringe replies Ex: "Aloy, Abby, and Baldy from the ND Space game are attractive, actually!" When I criticize Xbox, I get the most delusional replies Ex: "Exclusives don't matter, actually! Xbox is actually playing 4D chess and is beating Nintendo and Sony in a convoluted 30-year plan! The execs getting fired is part of the plan!"

I share about 100 yards of drive way with my ~70yr old neighbors. For some reason he’s obsessed with knocking down the center grass in the middle of the tire ruts and covering it with gravel. He talks about it all the time, probably 30% of all conversations I have with him are about this. He’s asking if I want to pitch in for more gravel, etc. When I put my parents in a guest house behind the barn, my dad started talking about it too. He got some roundup and sprayed his section of road. Am I missing something here? I see no problem with it. It looks fine. It occupies 0% of my mind. I’m prepared to spend 0 dollars to remedy this “problem” What is happening?

@Draconianwrath_ @SirBylHolte >He did the wizard equivalent of calling a black person the R slur Pointing this out just makes it more retarded. >Because Harry is busy doing something else He's standing next to her doing nothing. I'll admit i didn't read past this, fix ur shit.

>Punches Draco in the face. He did the wizard equivalent of calling a black person the R slur >Threatens him physically with her wand. So? >Slaps Harry’s hands. SO? >Bosses Harry and Ron around. She's been a bossyboots from book 1. This is not new. >Literally controls time with zero real consequences or mistakes. She gets to use a Timeturner specifically to attend extra classes because she's known to be an exceptional student and extremely responsible, this is already established and not new. >Saves Buckbeak—and the day—instead of Harry. They save Buckbeak together. >Calls the werewolf away instead of Harry. Because Harry is busy doing something else and Hermione is distracting the werewolf, not 1v1ing it, how the fuck is this an issue? >Solves most of the mystery (Lupin, Sirius, Pettigrew) before Harry fully catches up. She is far smarter than Harry and everyone else in her year, this is not new and is not an issue. >Attends multiple classes simultaneously like it’s nothing. False, it is noted that the extra workload is actually affecting her mental health and also physically draining her to the point that she drops the extra workload requiring the Timeturner at the end of the year. >Stands up to PROFESSOR Snape in class while everyone else fears him. What's Snape actually gonna do to her considering her outstanding performance in potions? He's a teacher remember? It's not her problem that the other students treat the 'mean' teacher like he's one bad day away from killing them all. >Takes charge of the entire rescue plan at the end—Harry mostly follows her lead. She's the one with experience using a timeturner and is keeping track of where everyone is at particular points in time to avoid crossing paths with their past selves. Harry trusts her enough to follow her lead. >Rescues Sirius Black from the tower, for which he affirms her as “the brightest witch of your age.” You're pretending Harry wasn't also there doing the same thing AND treating Sirius's comment as literal instead of a compliment (though it honestly could be true) >Oh—and she’s also the only one smart enough to figure out Lupin is a werewolf while everyone else is clueless. For the last time, she is extremely intelligent, this is not new and it is not an issue. Also it is noted that a lot of werewolves shun wizard society and form their own groups so the idea of their teacher being a werewolf would probably sound inconceivable to a normal wizarding student. You can complain that they gave her too much focus compared to Harry but at no point is she out of established character or showing 'Mary Sue' traits. You're essentially complaining that the 'smart' person made the plans and then pretending that she was the only person carrying it out, ignoring Harry completely for some reason.

Rewatching the Harry Potter movies and, while I never liked Hermione, "Prisoner of Azkaban" turns her into an insufferable, overpowered Mary Sue. Punches Draco in the face. Threatens him physically with her wand. Slaps Harry’s hands. Bosses Harry and Ron around. Literally controls time with zero real consequences or mistakes. Saves Buckbeak—and the day—instead of Harry. Calls the werewolf away instead of Harry. Solves most of the mystery (Lupin, Sirius, Pettigrew) before Harry fully catches up. Attends multiple classessimultaneously like it’s nothing. Stands up to PROFESSOR Snape in class while everyone else fears him. Takes charge of the entire rescue plan at the end—Harry mostly follows her lead. Rescues Sirius Black from the tower, for which he affirms her as “the brightest witch of your age.” Oh—and she’s also the only one smart enough to figure out Lupin is a werewolf while everyone else is clueless. If they were depicting her this way 22 YEARS AGO, how do you expect the TV show to feel?

Most men are gay. They're literally gay. Because they don't really like us women. Our natural bodies, they think it's gross. Our interests, they think it's cringe. Spending time with us, they think it's like a responsibility. And if a guy has a girlfriend, and instead of date night with her, he genuinely wants to be with the boys, and he feels it's a punishment that he can't spend time with his boys, he doesn't really like her. So I genuinely think most men are gay but they haven't figured it out because being gay is like also too feminine for them and they don't like feminine things.

blessed to live in a golden age of filmmaking in which we have horror films like Sinners that explore the black cultural experience and ask the question "what if white people are monsters?" and then, at the opposite end of the spectrum, we have horror films like Midsommar that explore traditional european cultures and ask the question "what if white people are monsters?"

my ex husband was given a tent at age 18 (he wasn’t even out of high school) and told he was on his own. He lived in CT and his bday is in Nov. He’s a raging alcoholic who never formed loving bonds with anyone his whole adult life and now lives in in assisted living where no one visits him. That’s the other side of the coin.

Some of the best people I know were told by their parents that once they turned 18 and graduated high school they needed to get a job and pay rent or move out.

Let's further break down what the so-called "rape fantasies" of most women actually look like, as expressed in popular "dark romances" and "bodice rippers": - The man is conventionally attractive and has high mate value. - The man has an obsessive, possessive, and EXCLUSIVE passion. - The "ravishing" (not really rape) is usually about establishing a long-term, committed relationship. Especially true in bodice rippers, where a recurring trope is deflowering a virgin so she has no choice but to marry the male lead. - The "ravishing" typically occurs from the woman's POV, so readers can be reassured that she's actually enjoying it, despite initial reluctance or protests. - Per exclusivity: the man magically loses genuine desire for all other women. If he does cheat, it's an act of deliberate malice, not wandering passion. - The man remains dangerous and/or brutish to everyone else, but is tamed into an attentive, responsible partner by the heroine. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what this all means, and it sure as hell isn't "women secretly want randos to assault them".
