Hitler did say positive statements on christianity in his book Mein Kampf in Volume 1. But in Volume 2, Hitler changed his tune differently and wasn't really defending christianity. Here's what he said: "A philosophy of life which is inspired by a fanatical spirit of intolerance can only be set aside by a doctrine that is advanced in an equally ardent spirit and fought for with as determined a will and which is itself a new idea, pure and absolutely sincere. Each one of us today may regret the fact that the advent of Christianity was the first occasion on which spiritual terror was introduced into the much freer ancient world, but the fact cannot be denied that ever since then, the world has been pervaded and dominated by this kind of coercion and that violence is broken only by violence and terrorism by terrorism." —Mein Kampf: The Stalag Edition. Volume 2, Chapter V: Weltanschauung and Organisation. Page 396. Hitler called christianity the first "spiritual terror." Does that sound like he's defending christianity? I'm afraid not. Then, later, Hitler states that this spiritual terror has been pervaded and dominated by christianity. Finally, he states that "violence is broken only by violence and terrorism by terrorism." What does he mean by this? Sounds like Hitler was giving a clue on what he would do to the christian churches by using coercion, violence, and terrorism to persecute the churches both Catholic and Protestant once he gets into power.
