This Testnet Tuesday, we had a nice straightforward upgrade of pion-1 to Neutron v5.1.1. 53 mainnet validators participated in this upgrade 🎉

@CosmWasm is the basis for a ton of useful tooling that validators need to run on a daily basis. This week on Testnet Tuesday, we gave a crash course in cw-plus multisigs! 40 participants instantiate their own multisig using the cw3 fixed multisig code 🎉

Customizable slashing and jailing allows consumer chains to choose the penalty (slashing, jailing, both) for different kinds of infractions - downtime and double-signing. 🚓 🚨 Previously, validators got slashed and jailed for double-signing, and jailed for downtime.

Priority List allows consumer chains to choose which opted-in validators take precedence in their validator set. 🥇 🥈 🥉 Previously, a large Hub validator would automatically take priority, meaning small vals were at risk of being kicked out of the consumer chain set.

Our team is always looking out for the Hub by smoothing out upgrades, training validators, and providing a stable testnet that should be used as a development platform for whatever big plans are coming down the pipeline. We're excited to keep that work going through 2025. 4/4

The Testnet Incentives Program has been Hypha's priority this past year, with funding from @ATOMAccelerator and now delegations from @interchain_io. This program recognizes validators for hard work, consistency, and dedication to the wellbeing of the Hub ⚛️ 3/4

Our 2024 mandate ended in December, but the testnets team is optimistically hard at work on the Hub this January. We're working with Interchain Labs to bring the first upgrade of 2025 to the Cosmos Hub mainnet while we wait for the results of our 2025 funding proposal. .. 1/4

We get lots of feedback about timezones, hardware requirements, and strict task criteria. But testnet is not for the faint of heart! Testnet operators are the best of the best -- consistently leading the Hub's active set in upgrade time and supporting fellow operators. 4/5
