1/8 - THE ABSURDITY OF OPPRESSION The most dangerous lies are the ones people tell themselves. When power wants something, it will find justification. There is a story from where I come from. I cannot remember it clearly, but I will try to tell it:

My husband still regrets coming back to Nigeria 2019 to visit his family, He was kidnapped that same year, was later released after paying huge amount of ransom which affected his traveling back , When we think, things are getting better again for him to go back, His elder brother was kidnapped, ransom was demanded , Hubby sold all his resources and assets just for his released because his four kids was still very young and the wife, But even after the ransom was paid, he was still killed, no body to retrieve, At the same time, hubby lost everything to them, and was also in so much debit which has been cleared by God's grace Instead of staying without anything, he decided to borrowed little money and get second hand Keke which he is managing now but has been in a bad shape since last week So to the f@@l that was calling me an Igbo beggar just because I committed on a giveaway, may Nigeria happen to u too This was my husband before Nigeria happened to him and now 🙏🙏🙏

@AyoShonaiya @asemota What is defamatory about making an established claim? If a bread is lasting weeks in the shelf, is it healthy for human consumption?

This is a tricky situation legally. On one hand, how do you prove defamation based on an observation of long lasting bread? And on the other hand, if you didn’t mention any brand on your post, why go into the comments to “like” a comment when a brand is mentioned? Another crucial point in this situation is, is “I never mentioned your brand” a defence tho? While holding a product that partially shows the logo (colour) of the brand. In Nigeria, we like to hide behind “I didn’t mention your name” while describing the person in other ways that seem to pinpoint that person’s identity. I think it’s cowardly, and if the comments made is defamatory, I believe it can be inferred who you’re referring to, ESPECIALLY if the person or product is mentioned in the comments and then you go and like the comment. Let’s see how this case goes.
Linda Ikeji Blog@lindaikeji

“I didn’t want to get involved, but after several calls, I had to respond. I reached out to her to understand how she got the bread, but she cut the call. She claims she didn’t mention my brand, yet she liked comments where people named it. She has now blocked me anywhere.” — CEO of BON Bread shares her side of the story.

@Miss_Oluremi You were not just disrespectful to her but also her husband. I will tell my wife to stay away from people like you even if she didn’t want to.

Whenever she comes to my house, I allow her to serve herself. She would stir my soup to pick the choicest protein. And each time I complained, she would say sebi I don't have anyone else who's coming to eat the soup, and I should feel lucky she's with me to eat it. So one day I visited her. She's married. After preparing dinner for her husband. I did not allow her to serve me. Just before her husband came back, I went to serve myself. It was Egusi, I don't even like it. But I made sure I stirred it to pick three choicest meats. She got angry and I did not apologise for it. Sebi, it's just her husband. He'll understand. She stopped coming to my house and I stopped too. It was later I heard from another friend that that incident was why she cut me off.

See how she painted the story to make herself look like a victim. Weyrey probably saw other responsible men in naija who wanted to marry her but turned all of them down to marry American Citizen to use him & escape poverty but the man wise pass am. Love it when men apply sense.

@Tolucomms @NGWomeninPR referred to her product & if so, how the lady lied. For defamation to stand, there has to be a false statement of fact. So where did she lie? That the bread lasted over 2 months? That long shelf life signals heavy processing? Or that heavily processed bread is dangerous?

@Tolucomms @NGWomeninPR Nigerians need to separate ego from truth. Customers genuinely call out a product based on established truths, the next thing is you trying to forcibly shut them up. The claims that lady made is backed up by research. I don’t understand why the CEO could explain how the video

Thankful to the professionals in my network who have reached out to ask what we are planning. @NGWomeninPR is now engaging some female lawyer groups, and senior execs who are putting their network to work in respect of this. An attempt to silence consumers will not be allowed.

Hello guys. Please I'm looking for the direct contact of that bread lady. I am making a public advocacy call, and especially putting the FCCPC and NADFAC on the line: We don't want another tomato paste situation on our hands where a consumer is bullied for a review.

I would have attempted an objective analysis of the video made by the Founder of Bon Bread but it may be misconstrued. Suffice it to say: one of the greatest challenges you will expose your company to, is listening to content creators or SMMs who pose as expert crisis managers.

@asemota @Frank_hacker_ But it is true that breads with higher shelf-life are highly processed. And there is research showing that highly processed bread is dangerous to human health. If micro-organisms won’t eat it, humans should not. How does she keep her bread from spoiling after a few days?

@Frank_hacker_ Anyone can buy the bread to confirm it. She doesn't keep her bread for two months because she bakes to sell on order as she said. Let's try to be less judgmental and more logical.

Did she have to do this? Yes!!! She is coming out to defend her brand and product in response to the rumors. She said people left comments about her brand on the lady's video, and the lady liked them. That was a tacit acknowledgment. Not doing anything would have been worse. She saw sales drop, and she did this. That means that rumors were effective. What should she do next? Not a talking video but a showing video. Show her entire production process, bake bread, and eat it herself. Get other influential people to eat it too. This can be a great PR opportunity in disguise. Also, introduce new tamper-proof packaging for the bread, then slowly raise prices to cover the cost.

For some *Nitwits* who said she didn't mention a name, don't know what it takes to build a brand, someone's energy and billions down the drain for likes and shares. So this woman doesn't know her bread? And her actual customers? For Bon CEO she is soft spoken, she needs to teach that lady the lesson of her Life. In Her next life she won't set ring light. You want to sink a business with 80 dependent families, some silly cats saying she didn't mention name.

This woman exposed the bread that has stayed in her shop for weeks and still looks fresh. She didn't mention any name, but the bread company that's guilty served her papers. This is something NAFDAC and government should take very seriously. Let's amplify this until the right thing is done.

@OmoGbajaBiamila I don’t understand some people. You post your wife or husband, only to start say you never loved him/her at first or they were not your type at first. What is the essence of that information? Disrespectful & inconsiderate people enslaving each other in situationship.

My colleague doesn’t touch her salary because her man covers all her bills and gives her a monthly allowance. She just bought a land secretly and is about to start building with her money + his allowance. Not touching her salary, living on allowance, and now building with both streams of money? Love that for her.
