@itsyaboi_lehoe I AM AN ITALIAN AND ITS MY TIME TO SHINE! Mostly in Italian armors, the main reason is MOBILITY! Since (at the time) shields needed quite some mobility to be used efficiently, they decided to keep one in order to give some sort of protection to the sword side.
