A Team Ireland selection of Junior and Youth boxers has been invited to take on a Scotland selection in February. The team will fly to Glasgow, and compete, on Saturday February 7th and includes 15 boxers from counties Antrim, Cork, Donegal, Down, Dublin, Galway, Kildare, Louth, Meath, Tyrone, Waterford, Westmeath. The team is led and managed by Aine McLoughlin of Spartans BC Cork, and coached by Linda Morgan (Arklow BC Wicklow), Ralph McKay (St. Paul's BC Antrim) and Garry Kehoe (Marble City BC, Kilkenny). Boxing Ireland President Anto Donnelly bestowed a series of accolades as part of the 2026 Elite Championship finals. Lifetime Achievement Awards were accorded to Christy McKenna and Stan Blanche. Honours in Memoriam were bestowed upon Peter O'Donnell, Joe Hennigan, Joe Vaughan, Jim Moore, Paul Loonam Snr, Paul McCullagh Junior and Breandán Ó Conaire

A massive thanks to each and every R&J, Evaluator, glove steward, ring runner, usher and most of all the Championship Committee of National Secretary Tara Robins Mari, National Registrar Stephen Connolly and Central Council member Anna Moore for an incredible 2026 Elite Championships. Hundreds of volunteered hours goes in to organising, administering, running and officiating at every championships, and they wouldn't be possible without the dedication and expertise of these officials.

FOURTEEN! Double Olympian Michaela Walsh has now won an incredible 14 Elite titles, more than any other Boxing Ireland athlete in history. She was the 5-0 winner over Sarah Cunningham of O'Rourke's BC in tonight's 57kg final.
