Cowboy Mike

A traveler walked through darkness waiting for dawn to save him. The guide handed him a torch. “Dawn was never coming for you.”

A traveler filled his bag with everything money could buy. It grew heavy. An old woman said, “Leave space for what cannot be carried.”

A village drank from a shallow well and never questioned the taste. One man walked farther to draw from a deeper one. They said it was unnecessary. He said it was worth it.

A traveler reached a high ridge and wondered if he had done enough. The old guide pointed to the valley below. “You’ve already climbed farther than you remember.”

A young traveler feared the darkness ahead. The old woman lifted his lantern. “The light was always in your hand.”

A traveler was caught in a storm high in the mountains. Yet he kept walking. “Gratitude,” he said, “is a fire the storm cannot reach.”

A traveler feared the river ahead might be too wide. The ferryman laughed softly. “The river may be wide. But your determination runs deeper.”

A gardener planted seeds every single day. But the old farmer watched him closely. “Planting grows the garden,” he said. “Pulling weeds keeps it alive.”

A traveler carried a lantern through a dark valley. The wind tried to take it. But the traveler remembered who first lit the flame.

A young man admired the sword and asked where its strength came from. The blacksmith tapped the hammer. “From everything that struck it.”

A man argued with the river to let him pass. The river did not answer. It simply kept flowing.

A boy asked the old man how he became skilled. The old man pointed to the fire. “I stayed there longer than most.”

A traveler erased the path behind him so he could not turn around. The road ahead became very clear.

A young man asked where courage was found. The old woman pointed to his chest. “You arrived with it.”

People stand against the current, convinced that logic will carry them. But the current doesn’t yield to reason; only when they stop resisting within do they find peace in the flow.

A king built towers to prove he mattered. A shepherd built a fire and went home at dusk. Only one slept in peace.

He waited for the right moment. It passed him every day.

He asked the world who he was meant to be. The world remained silent. It was waiting for his answer.

He measured himself against others. Another measured himself against the work. Only one improved.

A man blamed the mirror for what it showed him. The mirror never argued.
