When we launched our Kickstarter in 2014, we opened with a question that had never been asked before: Where are the action figures for girls? We were at the forefront of a cultural zeitgeist. To put things in perspective, the Wonder Woman reboot with Gal Gadot was still three years away. We were the tip of the spear. Having said that, we made sure our design and messaging was universal. So our figures have always appealed to everyone, no matter their age or gender. A powerful thanks to Tyler Mathisen and Sue Herera for sharing the lAmElemental story on Nightly Business Report (NBR) back in December of 2016. We were - and continue to be - so grateful to have been given the opportunity to introduce our fierce female action figures to a larger audience. It was a long piece! I had to edit it down to fit Instagram's parameters. So, forgive the occasional odd cut!

Wisdom is our “Blue” series. So I went for colors that contrasted strongly with blues. And the Seahawk green is the perfect example.⁣ ⁣ I still love it! So much fun!

Board of Ed. ⁣ ⁣ I was aware he had a PhD in theology, but I wanted to know more.⁣ ⁣ Another quick search & I had my answer. ⁣ ⁣ King’s mother was a school teacher & she taught her son to read before he entered school.⁣ ⁣ He was an early reader & an exceptional student who skipped much of high school & went directly into college when he was just 15 years old.⁣ ⁣ King graduated from Morehouse College in 1948 with a B.A. in sociology. He graduated with a B.Div. degree from Crozer Theological Seminary in 1951 & he earned his PhD in theology from Boston University in 1955.⁣ ⁣ "Knowledge is a process of piling up facts; wisdom lies in their simplification." - Martin Luther King, Jr.⁣ ⁣ Lucky for us, he wasn't just educated, he was wise.⁣ ⁣ Martin Luther King, Jr. was a remarkable man. It is unlikely we can match his accomplishments. However, we can, all of us, educate ourselves by reading a healthy diet of good books. ⁣ ⁣ A U.S. Dept. of Ed. study states, “Voluntary reading involves personal choice, reading widely from a variety of sources.... Aliterates, people who have the ability to read but choose not to, miss just as much as those who cannot read at all. Individuals read to live life to its fullest, to earn a living, to understand what is going on in the world & to benefit from the accumulated knowledge of civilization. Even the benefits of democracy & the capacity to govern ourselves successfully depend on reading.”⁣ ⁣ There are many ways to honor the memory & legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. Please join me in making 2026 the year that we take a page from his book (pun intended) & read.⁣
