It has been verified — using Iranian state imagery cross-checked against EU Copernicus satellites and commercial Planet Labs data — that Iran hit 228 structures and pieces of equipment at 15 US military bases during the active war. The Pentagon’s public number is a fraction of that. 13 service members are dead. Over 400 are wounded. The damage to our missile inventory will take years to replace. And the Straight of Hormuz is still not open. This is not winning.

The Quantum position: Reign-in our hyper belligerent, but completely dependent foreign ally. End the war. Stop maintaining 800 forward bases that can’t be defended against $30,000 drones. Consolidate our military footprint and focus on defending our own hemisphere. Invest the defense budget in technologies that actually work — directed energy weapons, autonomous systems, and cheap drone swarms.

"Everything flows. Time is the form of existence of all that is. To say: this exists, is to say in time; for time is the form of the flow of phenomena. “Everything flows and moves, and nothing remains,” Heraclitus already lamented. Everything slips through consciousness and passes, is forgotten. Chronos, time, produces phenomena, but, like its mythological figure, Kronos, it devours its children. The very essence of consciousness, of life, of all reality, lies in their fluidity, namely in a certain metaphysical oblivion. The most original philosophy of our time, that of Henri Bergson, is built upon this indubitable truth: the idea of the reality of time and its power. Yet, despite the certainty of this truth, we cannot stifle within ourselves the need for that which is not forgotten, for that which is unforgettable, for that which “remains” in the flow of time. This is a-letheia. For the Greek, truth is a-letheia, that which can remain from the flux of oblivion, from the lethal current of the sensible world, something that overcomes time, that endures without flowing away, and that memory preserves eternally. Truth is the eternal memory of a certain Consciousness. It is a value worthy of perpetual commemoration and capable of it."

Our fight is the fight for universal resurrection.

Christ said, 'I came not to send peace, but a sword' ... Christ summoned us to war on the plane of the spirit, and our weapon is 'the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.' .. We dare not strike with fire or sword: our sole armament is love, even for enemies. This unique war in which we are engaged is indeed a holy war. We wrestle with the last and only enemy of mankind: death. Our fight is the fight for universal resurrection. St Sophrony of Essex

@C2Antiquity @economic_eth Aren’t Catholics technically Apostolic, yet in grave error, but are therefore still our brothers? My priest called me “brother” while I was still a catechumen… 🤷♂️

“God is good, dispassionate and immutable. Now someone who thinks it reasonable and true to affirm that God does not change, may well ask how, in that case, it is possible to speak of God as rejoicing over those who are good and showing mercy to those who honor Him, while turning away from the wicked and being angry with sinners. To this it must be answered that God neither rejoices nor grows angry, for to rejoice and to be offended are passions; nor is He won over by the gifts of those who honor Him, for that would mean He is swayed by pleasure. It is not right to imagine that God feels pleasure or displeasure in a human way. He is good, and He only bestows blessings and never does harm, remaining always the same. We men, on the other hand, if we remain good through resembling God, are united to Him; but if we become evil through not resembling God, we are separated from Him. By living in holiness we cleave to God; but by becoming wicked we make Him our enemy. It is not that He grows angry with us in an arbitrary way, but it is our own sins that prevent God from shining within us, and expose us to the demons who punish us. And if through prayer and acts of compassion we gain release from our sins, this does not mean that we have won God over and made Him change, but that through our actions and our turning to God we have cured our wickedness and so once more have enjoyment of God’s goodness. Thus to say that God turns away from the wicked is like saying that the sun hides itself from the blind.”
