i have been thinking a lot about the shape of my compute envelope lately. essentially, i have a bunch of money sitting in my wallet doing nothing, and i can use it to buy vgpu time on aws. the thing that stops me from just running random/tinkering/basically anything that might be interesting is that i have no idea how much it might cost - it could be $2 or $2000! so. i think if i was to chart my compute spend, it would look like a poisson process - occasional spikes of high spend, but generally very low. this makes sense for the timeline too, as i amSuper excited about playing with new ideas, but ultimately my attention is drawn to the Next Big Thing. food for thought
