The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has officially signed the newly amended Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia, which was approved by both Houses of the Federal Parliament on March 4, 2026.

Committees tasked with constitutional review have finalized the proposed amendments to Chapters 5–15 of the Constitution. The meeting focused on incorporating MPs’ views, recommendations, and proposals raised during parliamentary debates.

The constitutional review bodies ICRIC, OC, and MoJCA met with the Ministries of Defence, Internal Security, and Finance for consultations on the proposed amendments to Chapter 11 (Public Finance) and Chapter 12 (Defence and Security).

Members of the Federal Parliament have successfully concluded deliberations on all proposed constitution amendments, with particular emphasis on Chapters 10 to 15 of the Constitution.

Lawmakers from both Houses of the Federal Parliament convened to continue deliberations on the remaining chapters of the Constitution, holding detailed discussions on Chapters 10–15, particularly those addressing Civil Service and Public Finance.

The Independent Constitutional Review and Implementation Commission and the Parliamentary Oversight Committee on Constitutional Review have finalized the remaining chapters of Somalia’s Constitution, including Civil Service, Public Finance, Defense & General Provisions.

The Independent Constitutional Review and Implementation Commission held a meeting to discuss the completion of the remaining chapters of the Constitution.

ICRIC and OC met today at the ICRIC office with the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank for preliminary consultations on Chapter 13 of finance.
