This approach is not a good one. It will end up hurting smaller participants who often have valuable ideas to contribute as proposals to improve the NNS or the #ICP ecosystem in general. For someone holding millions of #ICP, whether the penalty is 25, 50, 100, 200, or even 500 #ICP for a rejected proposal, it makes little to no difference. A better approach would be to identify accounts that are spamming the NNS and propose suspending them. For example, such accounts could face suspension periods of 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or even 1 year from submitting proposals, depending on the severity of the spam. Even in a democracy, elected representatives can be suspended when necessary. 👌 @dfinity @dominic_w

Proposal 140924 has been rejected, and now we’re dealing with the consequences. I’ve mentioned this multiple times: we need a way to protect the NNS from spam and advertising abuse. If the argument is “this is democracy and they lose 25 $ICP,” just keep in mind that 25 ICP (~$60) is nothing for someone holding millions. It’s basically a cheap way to advertise to thousands of people. I’m not saying we should go against democratic processes. I’m saying we should make it harder for bad actors. If someone wants to use the NNS to push their narrative, fine, but at least make them pay a meaningful amount, not pocket change.

🚨 I’ll be brutally honest. We can’t keep ignoring this. Caffeine AI retention is terrible. 97% of projects die within a week. Only ~3% survive. Building the entire ICP narrative around Caffeine looks like a huge strategic mistake. This isn’t product-market fit. It’s hype without staying power. DFINITY should rethink this path before it’s too late.

@BoboliBoliobli @gm2icp @dfinity @WaterNeuron liquid staking with nICP has done pretty well against ICP over the past year. 6 month returns were better than 8 year NNS returns, plus people stayed liquid whereas with the NNS you are locked and can’t sell your stake.

@OWHistory It’s a typical founder pivot play to deflect and keep moving the goalposts. It would be nice for once to see Dom come back down to earth from his moon mission to acknowledge the current state and take some responsibility for lack of adoption instead of blaming others.

⚠️⚠️⚠️ This is what Dominic Williams promised 6 months ago. Today, the community is obsessed with Mission70, desperately hoping that cutting inflation will save the network. I’m sorry, but inflation doesn't matter without usage. 📉 You can cut inflation by 99%, but if there is no real demand for cycles, the network dies anyway. I invested a massive amount into $ICP because I believed in Dom’s vision. I believed in this post and dozens like it where he promised things—like 1 million apps—that he knew would not happen. To me, this is irresponsible. When a founder’s hype consistently fails to meet on-chain reality, you lose the only thing that matters: Credibility. Stop talking about tokenomics. One day ICP trading volume is currently $40M. Last November it peaked just over $1B Lows last year were around $100M If volume goes much lower we might start to see some liquidity problems in ICP markets, with risks tilted to the downside.

The funny thing about this is that pulling the stakes of those 8 year neurons plus all neurons with dissolve delays greater than 2 years forward could release 20x more ICP onto the market 2 years from now than inflation ever would have. A race to a mass liquidation event in 2028

Honestly, once Mission 70 Part 3 does pass, I hope all the whales who voted no and threatened to dissolve and sell, end up doing so. Their $ICP is better off in the hands of those who actually want what's best for the network, not those who put their self-interests first.

Zooming out, with the right incentives VCs always work to increase the value of their investment, up until it’s at the optimal sale price. Might be a good strategy after the mission 70 8 year to 2 year pull forward to lock up some VC capital and help offset mass 2 year unlocks
