Prediction. 1 year from now Caffeine will not run on the ICP blockchain. It will run on a cloud engine version of the ICP replica owned by Caffeine, running on AWS. Burning zero cycles or ICP.
dom | icp@dominic_w

@zucaro_mar83047 The ICP replica/node has been reengineered to run on AWS instances in addition to specialized ICP hardware, so node providers will be able to create nodes on AWS. AWS was incredibly helpful to DFINITY engineering teams and provided special functionality. No deal needed.

Crypto price action doesn’t look like dog poop for the first time in awhile. The only issue - every other asset class looks infinitely more attractive.

@dominic_w Been using @caffeine_ai for 6 months, built a health tracking app with 500+ critical medical entries. It’s been down for over 2 weeks due to a cycles issue. I chose ICP specifically because I was told this kind of thing doesn’t happen. @dominic_w

@dominic_w If you see how fast AI is evolving why even develop Caffeine as a UI harness in the first place? AIs will evolve past the Caffeine harness, and the new AI interfaces will be voice conversation based. You guys need to focus on your AI connectors and APIs instead of Caffeine.

Caffeine.ai focused on helping people implement AIware on the Internet Computer or an ICP cloud engine (coming soon), where you spend more time in AI chat than you do in the traditional UX. This is the future.

I care far more about the reason behind the ranking than the ranking itself. Unpopular opinion: $2-$4 is a reasonable valuation until $ICP demonstrates higher economic activity: sustained significant cycle burn, meaningful CaffeineAI adoption, MultiDEX generating real revenue with 100k+ daily active users, and broad Cloud Engines adoption. (Don't get me wrong, I think most blockchains are significantly overvalued.) Once that's delivered, the price becomes secondary and if ICP were at $100, I'd still be buying more. Narratives can move prices. Only fundamentals can sustain them. A superior tech stack is only potential. Adoption comes from execution, building products and services that solve real problems better than the alternatives.

Community, let’s think about this together: Why should sustained market cap ranking be our North Star metric? It is the clearest and most objective market feedback: • It directly shows real recognition and competitive standing. • Short-term price moves are fine, but persistent ranking decline (from top 20+ early days to around #50 now) reveals that our efforts aren’t translating into market success. We need to make stable market cap ranking improvement the ultimate goal, build clear feedback loops, and push the @dfinity team and @dominic_w to adjust accordingly. Only by facing this hardest metric honestly can we turn potential into real success. Open to rational discussion #ICP

Lending + Borrowing is a proven, necessary system for driving economic growth. It’s not hype or speculation, it serves a market need that’s been around since 4000 BCE in ancient Mesopotamia. Now we have lending & borrowing for Bitcoin.

@world_comp_uter @SussexFOI @sisyphus_nz0 Unfriendly in financials terms. No other venture model requires you to give away 50% at any stage in order to raise capital. Plus in order to use that capital or make any product change you have to go through a DAO. It’s restrictive on so many levels.

@IC_potential @SussexFOI @sisyphus_nz0 "how unfriendly the SNS is to entrepreneurs"... you are joking I hope. Entrepreneurs usually don't look for friendship but for real customers/users and growth. Whatever how the ecosystem is, you just have to focus on your users, the Waterneuron team didn't...

@world_comp_uter @SussexFOI @sisyphus_nz0 Those investments were in nICP and the Waterneuron protocol. Because of how unfriendly the SNS is to entrepreneurs the Waterneuron team didn’t make jack off those investments. Waterneuron is a bet on ICP DeFi growth, but Dom was simultaneously defunding the ecosystem to chase AI

The inflation must be measured in ICP. I’m afraid this way of looking at it is backwards. Low USD value for opex payouts is a bad thing (it’s only good insofar as the network goes unused that it’s better to shed overcapacity). What we want is: lots of network use -> high Cycle Burn Rate -> high USD network revenue -> high USD node op payouts. The more successful the network is, the more USD we would pay out to node operators, since we’d need more of them AND because the tokenomics are now adjusted to reduce payouts to existing node ops if there is not enough demand. And inflation must be measured in ICP since for a given USD payout, the lower the ICP price, the more ICP tokens must be payed by the network to node operators.

@AaronPsy01 @BlockchainPill @WaterNeuron @sisyphus_nz0 Ecosystems have network effects. If you keep removing funding it’s destabilizing. DFINITY invested cheaply. They tried funding 100s of projects in Indonesia and ICP Hubs with minimal $$, and struggled to identify and fund larger, innovative projects with entrepreneurial talent.

@AaronPsy01 @BlockchainPill @WaterNeuron @sisyphus_nz0 Dom became obsessed with AI late 2023. DFINITY started cutting grant/ecosystem funding in early-mid 2024 , and by the end of 2025 had completely shuttered the grants program. All grant funds plus significant DFINITY funds R&D were repurposed to Caffeine accelerating into 2025👇

@SussexFOI @sisyphus_nz0 I don’t blame the Waterneuron founder. Dom treats everyone around him like shit including his own employees. Why do you think all the top DFINITY engineers and leaders left over the past few years? Top ecosystem teams left. No VCs will touch Dom. He’s narcissistic and toxic.

@SussexFOI @sisyphus_nz0 No. It’s a DAO and the founders hold minority stake. Biggest stake is actually held by DFINITY. If the DAO decides to fully dissolve that’s their prerogative, but the Waterneuron protocol has been solid since day 1 They built a good system that runs on its own. Thats a good DAO
