Today, India takes a defining step in its civil nuclear journey, advancing the second stage of its nuclear programme. The indigenously designed and built Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor at Kalpakkam has attained criticality. This advanced reactor, capable of producing more fuel than it consumes, reflects the depth of our scientific capability and the strength of our engineering enterprise. It is a decisive step towards harnessing our vast thorium reserves in the third stage of the programme. A proud moment for India. Congratulations to our scientists and engineers.

You are clearly misinformed — Al-Khwarizmi was an Arab scholar. Your claim is factually incorrect. The origins of the ghubari numerals are Arabic, not Indian, despite what distorters of history claim. According to scholarly consensus, the oldest known manuscript featuring the ghubari numerals in the form (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) is attributed to Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi (780–850 CE). A Latin translation of this work survives under the title: “Algoritmi de numero Indorum”. Following that, the numerals appear in the work of Al-Biruni (973 CE), and again in the famous book “Tabaqat al-Umam” (“Classes of Nations”), written in 1068 CE by Ibn Sa’id al-Andalusi, a leading Andalusian scholar. In that text, he states: “Among the sciences we received from India is the ghubari system of arithmetic, which was developed and expanded by Abu Ja’far Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi. It is the most concise and simplest method, the easiest to apply, the most elegant in structure. It testifies to the Indians’ brilliance in invention and originality of thought.” While Al-Khwarizmi is credited with developing the Arabic ghubari numerals—just as he pioneered the field of algorithmic mathematics—these numerals did not gain wide adoption in the eastern Arab world. However, they were well received in Andalusia and the Maghreb, from where they spread into Europe, and eventually became the universal number system used globally today (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9). The reason for the rise and popularity of these numerals in the western Islamic world is partly political: a result of the tension between the Umayyads of Andalusia and the Abbasids of Baghdad. As is well known, the Umayyads—ruling independently in al-Andalus—sought to distinguish themselves from Abbasid culture in Baghdad. This drive for distinction included not only numerals but also the Arabic script, artistic motifs, and architectural styles, all of which diverged in form and symbolism as a result of this rivalry.

Hello, naive one. It seems you are unaware that the veil, face covering, and modest dress for women are ancient religious practices that predate Islam. These were part of the teachings of the prophets and the laws of the Church from the earliest centuries of the Christian era, clearly urging women to cover their faces and entire bodies from head to toe, avoid mixing with men, and abstain from using cosmetics. These are the interpretations of the Church Fathers and its early teachers, who stated plainly that the veil and face covering were obligatory for Christian women—inside and outside the church, and at all times, except within their own homes. Saint John Chrysostom, Patriarch of Constantinople, held that Paul’s command for women to cover themselves in church implicitly applies to all of a woman’s life, not just during worship. Thus, even the punishment of shaving a Christian woman’s head for failing to wear the veil was applied both inside and outside the church. You ignorant man—do you not know that the roots of European science were laid by Arab civilization? Many European thinkers wished the Arabs had conquered the rest of Europe, to free it from the darkness of the Middle Ages and the tyranny of the Church, and to spread knowledge and enlightenment. Joseph McCabe, one of the greatest voices of freethought in 19th-century England, said: “Had the Arabs of Spain gathered in Europe and stayed for two centuries, building their cities as they did in Spain, we would now be five centuries more advanced than we are today. No one can count the blood, tears, poverty, and oppression that Charles Martel (a Christian) caused by driving them out.” This is a sincere and sufficient acknowledgment of what Muslim civilization contributed to the world of science. Let us also remind you that Muslims developed mathematics, algebra, geometry, and arithmetic, introduced the decimal system, and laid the foundations of algebra, trigonometry, and physics. Some Orientalists even referred to the field as “Islamic Mathematics.” For example, Dr. Bhaskar Rao wrote in his book “The History of the Development of Science”: “If it weren’t for the progress of Islamic mathematics in the Middle Ages, modern science would not have been possible.” Likewise, Robert Briffault admitted: “What we call science emerged in Europe as a result of a new spirit of inquiry and new methods of investigation—both of which were introduced into Europe through the Arabs.” Know this: you are like a donkey carrying books, and your only response is memes.
