We are working with @IFITtransitions on an international framework to promote and incentivize the use of mediation, negotiation, conciliation and other pacific means for resolving non international armed conflicts in line with article 33 of the Charter of the United Nations. Today, our teams met to finalize a draft text of this groundbreaking treaty. @ForeignOfficeKE

Last evening, I was honored to host a conversation over dinner towards a proposed global framework for the mediation, negotiation and dialogic resolution of non-international conflicts. I am deeply grateful for the cooperation of the team at @IFITtransitions Led by Mark Freeman in this venture. Equally grateful to the diplomats who joined the lively engagement. In the days ahead, we shall be seeking the views of a broader set of stakeholders in the furtherance of pacific settlement to non-international conflicts. @ForeignOfficeKE
