There’s a roadmap change guys: So I had a proper draft of how we are to go about it and this is it. I’m very sure this would be very self sufficient. So for the 90-Day Backend Roadmap, the summary of everything to be covered is this (Relational DB + Auth + RBAC + Payments + Redis + Queues). But still, down below is the detailed path of how everything will be covered step by step across the phases. Before you continue looking through the whole roadmap ensure you share this so those people also get a hold of it.

If you are a hatching backend or frontend developer, please add e-commerce to projects you wanna build for record. This is one of the projects that teaches you logic and data flow Don’t let the noise about “AI can build it in minutes” fool you, you still need to know your onions

@vtechthedev 😔😔 honestly can't say buh the two framework I use for full stack development are heavily oop based. Nest js and Angular. Buh Jonas JavaScript course gave me a bit of preparation.

I have one major goal for 2026, and it is to submit at least one non-trivial patch to PostgreSQL core. Let’s see if I can take my side projects to a difficulty level higher than necessary 😂 It could very well be one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done, considering my background. However, I am amazed by the depth of knowledge I have gained about database internals and particularly PostgreSQL over the years.

My wife wants us to travel to Nigeria to vote next year. I did the math and told her it will cost us around €3k to €5k, and for that money we can get more than 2 votes. She did not get what I meant until I explained that APC will pay N15k to N25k per vote against our €3k to €5k for 2 votes when we consider all the costs associated with travelling to Nigeria and spending a few days. As crazy as it sounds, I’d rather just use the money to buy votes for our preferred candidate. It’s better value for money.

Wired up Redis and BullMQ on Conduit today. The webhook relay now has a proper producer-consumer architecture. Producer (API server) receives a webhook, creates a callback record, pushes a job to the queue, returns 200 immediately. Consumer (worker, separate process) pulls jobs from Redis, fetches the callback, sends a POST to the endpoint URL with a 10 second timeout, updates the status based on response. Two completely independent processes. They communicate only through Redis. Worker can crash without taking down the API. API can restart without losing queued jobs. Tested end-to-end with webhook.site, fired a simulator event, watched the worker pick it up, confirmed the POST arrived with custom X-Conduit headers. Hit a few issues along the way — AES key length had to be converted from hex string to 32-byte buffer, PostgreSQL array operator needed text[] cast not jsonb. Debugging is the real teacher. Next up: retry logic with exponential backoff + jitter. github.com/Verifieddanny/…

@IGBOboy__ @qtguru Lols okay. I guess it's because system design and thinking is the only thing that makes devs relevant now. That is the only thing stopping your PM from writing the code I personally want to write and share but problems plenty for my head like this.

I don't understand your frustrations. But what they are dishing out is still best practice abi? That is all that matters. You should start sharing the best practices you implement. If you cannot do that, then your problem is philistinism.
Chidex-10 🚀@IGBOboy__

@qtguru Which do you use bro?? Buh honestly the hot takes on tech Twitter is too much these days. Plenty people dishing out advice and best practices they don't implement themselves 😔😕

@VncentIkechukwu If something new starts trending now all of em will port to that topic and start dropping hot takes which can be overwhelming for people just starting out. Plenty advise can be bad sometimes

@VncentIkechukwu Of course there are accounts here that practice what they preach and I follow them as well as learn a couple of tips from em. But that doesn't mean the majority are just following trends. Most times sef I see one post/tips multiple places by different account

@VncentIkechukwu @qtguru You don't understand. I mean almost every account now post about systems design that's what's trending. When 'Ai taking devs job' was trending too everyone was posting it and also had a thing to say.

@IGBOboy__ @qtguru You are just displaying typical Nigerian philistinism but it's okay. They are sharing best practices they don't practice, can you share the ones you practice?
