I'm 26 years old now. My mom had me when she was 20, out of wedlock. The man was already married and was a lecturer at the school she was attending. After 3 years, she got married to another man and left me with my grandparents. I grew up with them; they were so loving to me. I was told that when I was around 3, my father's people came for me. As custom demands in my tribe, they had to pay a price quite similar to a bride price—a pig and some other things. They did it, except for the money they demanded for my upkeep at that age. They went back and didn't return. My father fell ill shortly after. Till I grew up no one came, my father later died due to something he involved in so I was told don't actually know, he has about 6 brothers and a sister. At 26 now, I am still answering to my mom's grandfather's name. They trained me through university, and all my certificates bear my mom's grandfather's name. My father and mother share the same local government, and I have not, for once, set foot in my father's house in the village. My grandparents are afraid for my life; according to them, the reason is that my father left an inheritance, and now they'll have to give it to me. The identity worries me, my tribe "the Tiv" people are strong on identity. My dad had two daughters, I just don't know what to do. When my father died, and his wife passed away shortly after, my father's younger brother demanded my picture to include in the burial programme. I sought my mother's father's approval, which he later gave, and they put the picture in the burial programme. Everyone in my father's family knows me, but not in person. I feel the decision is now left to me to go back to them and change my name, but it's not easy. My mom's father is a Christian, but I feel he's looking at it from a spiritual aspect. No one is talking, and the decision feels heavy for me to take. I don't know what to do at this moment. My father was very popular; he contested for the federal House of Representatives around 2007. Many said he won, but the results were thwarted. Some said that was the cause of his death. Please advice me. End.

So you mean a man should go impotent because he doesn’t want a woman to have body changes. We should castrate ourselves. We shall only agree to this if the woman removes her wombs completely and permanently That’s the only equivalent to vesectomy. They must render themselves Barren for us to agree to it

This is a scrotum and the procedure being done is vasectomy. Vasectomy is a safe, highly effective and permanent method of family planning. The doctor will only cut and seal the tubes that carry sperm from the testicles. It takes less than 40 minutes. It removes sperm from the semen. Instead women taking all these contraceptives that mess up their brains and mood, will you men be willing to do vasectomy instead?

Gele was actually a borrowed word To mean handkerchief Then the Yaribas were transported for slavery by the colonials. They usually distribute handkerchief to yariba women slaves to use as headtie That was how yariba women began to wear handkerchief as head scarf. Pls learn your history well before coming to the public
Ọbabìnrin Adérónkẹ́@mindshiftorg

Ichafu is not originally an ibo word. It's a loan word from French. Ichafu and gele are two different things. Ichafu is like a chiffon material Gele is a structured head gear. It can be shaped into different styles.

@IGBOnPROUD @nnamanichi93717 Lol. Today can Ethiopia defeat any Western country? Does it have nuclear capability? You're missing the point. Africa is still as weak as day old chicks. All our heavy artillery are imported, even the fighter jets need permission from Western countries before they are flown😂

@nnamanichi93717 Oh you mean the kind and accommodating people who sold each other for schnapps and umbrella? Most of them tried to fight off the colonizers, but they were eventually defeated. From the Zulus to the Kanem Bornu empire....they all failed

"Lt. Colonel Ayeni, no matter the rank you hold in the military, YOU SERVE ME AND WORK FOR ME, until I am no longer Nigerian, so take that away first."
Harry Da Diegot@trigottista

How can the @HQNigerianArmy tag Community Notes and it only made their lies more obvious and their case worse and ultimately damaged their already disgraced reputation like the country they represent. Give a Yoruba man some power and expect nothing more than disgrace. Lt. Colonel Ayeni, no matter the rank you hold in the military, YOU SERVE ME AND WORK FOR ME, until I am no longer Nigerian, so take that away first.

Tinubu went to the north and gave them rice and spaghetti. Tinubu went to the southwest and gave them rice and jellof condiments. Tinubu came to the southeast and shared expensive electronics and laptops. Look, look what Igbo votes can do 🎶🎶🎶

Following my interaction with the relevant security agencies, I have reflected on some of my past tweets and recognize that the tone may have come across stronger than intended. My comments were made in the context of online political commentary, not out of hostility toward any country or its people. I deeply respect the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and the United States @USinNigeria , as well as other friendly nations, and the many Nigerians who live, work, and thrive in those countries. Where my words were misunderstood or caused offence, I sincerely regret that. As a patriot, I remain committed to promoting peace, mutual respect, and the security of our dear country while continuing to advocate for a better future for all. I appreciate all the well-meaning Nigerians and friends who have stood by me during this phase of my first encounter with the security authorities, and I commend the professionalism shown, as well as the respect accorded to me by the personnel throughout the process. I do not take this support for granted.
