The threat of NCII has evolved, but the harm hasn't. Speaking at IGPP’s panel ‘The Rising NCII Threat: Technology, Trends and Emerging Risks,’ Ms. Karuna Nain, co-founder of StopNCII.org, highlighted how technology has transformed the scale, speed and accessibility of NCII. Yet for victims, the impact remains equally severe, regardless of whether the content is real or AI-generated. 📢 Announcing Upcoming Surveys on NCII in India As part of IGPP’s ongoing research on Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery (NCII) in India, we will soon be launching two important surveys aimed at understanding both lived experiences and broader public perceptions surrounding NCII, digital harms, and online safety. 🔹 Survey A: Public Awareness and Perception of NCII in India 🔹 Survey B: Experiences of NCII Victims in India Through these surveys, we aim to generate deeper insights into emerging risks such as online abuse and deepfakes, reporting barriers, platform accountability, institutional responses and victim support mechanisms in India. The findings will contribute to ongoing conversations around digital safety, cyber governance, online harms, and the need for more victim-centric policy responses. Stay tuned for the release. Your participation and support can help shape more informed and meaningful conversations on combating NCII in India. AI in Education Is Not Just a Technology Shift. It’s an Institutional Responsibility. The conference report from ‘AI and the Education System for Viksit Bharat: Preparing for the Next Wave’ highlights how institutions are no longer simply adopting AI tools. They are shaping the conditions under which students and educators will learn, teach and engage with technology. The discussions pointed to the growing importance of clear AI governance, equitable access and approaches that place student well-being, critical thinking and meaningful learning at the centre of technological integration. These institutional actions directly influence how students experience education, how educators adapt to changing classrooms and how responsibly AI is integrated into learning ecosystems across India. This conference was organised by the Institute for Governance, Policies and Politics (@IGPPVMF), in collaboration with Aryabhatta College, University of Delhi. Teaching in the Age of AI Requires More Than Adapting to Technology. The conference report from ‘AI and the Education System for Viksit Bharat: Preparing for the Next Wave’ highlights how AI is reshaping the role of educators across classrooms and institutions. The discussions pointed toward a future where teaching is increasingly centred on continuous learning, evolving assessment practices and helping students engage with AI more thoughtfully and responsibly. These are not abstract shifts. They carry direct implications for how educators teach, evaluate learning, and how they prapre students for a world that will demand adaptation to an AI-led world. This conference was organised by the Institute for Governance, Policies and Politics (IGPP), in collaboration with Aryabhatta College, University of Delhi. What Does AI in Education Mean for Students? The conference report from ‘AI and the Education System for Viksit Bharat: Preparing for the Next Wave’ highlights critical questions about how students will learn, think and prepare for the future in an age shaped by AI. From ensuring AI strengthens rather than replaces critical thinking, to preparing students for careers defined by constant adaptation, to building more responsible and thoughtful AI integration in classrooms, the discussions pointed to major shifts underway in education. At the centre of these conversations is the question of how students can develop the intellectual, creative and adaptive skills needed to navigate an increasingly AI-driven world without losing curiosity and independent thinking in the process. This conference was organised by the Institute for Governance, Policies and Politics (IGPP), in collaboration with Aryabhatta College, University Of Delhi. 🚨 Classrooms are changing faster than our policy conversations around them. AI is no longer a future possibility in education — it is already shaping how students learn, how teachers teach and how institutions function. The real challenge now is ensuring that India’s education system is prepared not just for technological adoption, but for the social, ethical and governance questions that come with it. We are pleased to release “AI and the Education System for Viksit Bharat — Preparing for the Next Wave,” a synthesis report emerging from the conference organised by the Institute for Governance, Policies and Politics (IGPP) in collaboration with Aryabhatta College, University of Delhi, on 21 April 2026. The report captures key insights, debates and recommendations from conversations involving policymakers, educators, researchers, industry leaders and students on the future of AI-enabled education in India. The Illusion of Productivity in the Age of AI Is AI making us smarter, or simply faster? Speaking at the ‘AI and the Education System for Viksit Bharat’ conference, Mr. Ashish Sharma highlighted that while AI often creates a convincing illusion of productivity, it does not guarantee that students are acquiring genuine knowledge. He emphasised that while technology is a powerful catalyst, the responsibility lies with the individual to ensure authentic intellectual growth. Efficiency must not be mistaken for true understanding.
