@serenade_sun I've been interested in both gears and saga for a while now , no idea why i never tried it yet

@IHateFallGuys They’re pretty short for RPG standards; each is only 30-40 hours long and a lot of them are cutscenes. You can feel the ambition throughout in its scope and storytelling ideas. Worth experiencing; I’m playing Xenogears now and it alone is longer than any individual Saga game.

@MitoRequiem id say after og re3 , re4 has a good story but it doesnt show the downfall of umbrella at all and just tells you that in the opening in service of the new place

@serenade_sun yeah trails is the only one in this list i feel that has the balls to continue the story in a different part of the world and the previous games still mattering, its all i wished for in a game series before i played them

@IHateFallGuys I’m excited to get into more Trails once 2nd Chapter drops, but it seems like the only one that fully pulled off the Protagonist Baton Pass like a real cinematic universe. Yakuza *seemed* like it really had it with Ichiban but now they’re running back to Kiryu and Majima again.

@serenade_sun havent yet but i did promise oomf to play it this year

@IHateFallGuys Have you played Xenosaga? The story from entry to entry is dense enough to be completely lost without playing the prior game (plus a phone game and VN between 2 and 3) but I respect the ambition even if it wasn’t feasible at their budget. So Xenoblade eased into it more loosely.

@serenade_sun My problem with RE, yakuza, halo is that they already have an ending in one entry or another but they kind of searched for excuses to continue it

@serenade_sun From this list id say my favorites are: Trails Xenoblade Metal gear Kingdom hearts Blazblue Ace attorney Halo Yakuza Resident evil Im a fan of all these but i mainly care for the first 3

@Soraismyson Havent played requiem yet but yeah they havent been interested in creating an interesting story even the good remakes dumbed down the story from the originals

@IHateFallGuys Think my hottest take regarding the franchise is that while all of the speedrun tricks are really fun both to watch and pull off during repeated runs the length of the games come at the cost of story, requiem kinda solidified this thought.
