IIPA successfully concluded the Two Weeks International Training Programme on “Managing Infrastructure Development Risk: Lessons from India” at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi, held from 10–23 March 2026.
The valedictory session marked the culmination of an enriching learning journey that brought together government officials and professionals from multiple countries across Asia, Africa, and other regions. Over the course of the programme, participants engaged in intensive discussions, field visits, expert lectures, and group work focusing on infrastructure planning, risk management, public–private partnerships, digital infrastructure, and resilient development.
The programme provided a platform for meaningful exchange of global perspectives and practical experiences, reinforcing the importance of collaborative learning in addressing complex infrastructure challenges in developing and emerging economies.
The valediction ceremony included:
Presentation of group assignments by participants
Reflections and feedback on learning experiences
Distribution of certificates by the Director General, IIPA.
It was heartening to witness the strong professional networks formed during the programme and the shared commitment among participants to apply the lessons learned in their respective countries.
IIPA extend our sincere appreciation to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India under the ITEC Programme for their continued support, as well as to all guest faculty, institutional partners, and participants for making this programme a success.
We look forward to continued engagement with our international alumni and future collaborations in the field of infrastructure governance and public policy.

The Ambedkar Chair at IIPA successfully conducted a workshop on “From Idea to Evidence: Research Methodology – Approaches, Tools & Techniques.”
The programme brought together 90 scholars from the University of Delhi (DU) and other leading universities, with expert sessions by professors from JNU, V.V. Giri National Labour Institute, DU, and Jamia Millia Islamia.
The initiative aims to build a cadre of young professionals and researchers equipped for real-time data collection and evidence-based inquiry.

A two-week international training programme on Managing Infrastructure Development Risk: Lessons from India has been organised by IIPA in association with Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The objective of the programme is to make participants understand the Indo-Pacific as an opportunity to expand the footprint across the region, importance of partnerships at the core of India’s Indo-Pacific interests. Around thirty-five international participants are attending the programme.

Capacity Building Programme for Judicial Officers of India on Cyber Security and Digital Forensics Investigation has been organised by IIPA in association with Indian Cyber Crime Cooperation Centre, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The agenda of the programme is to ensure the attainment and maintenance of the security properties of the organisation and user’s assets against relevant security risks in the cyber environment. The general security objectives comprise the following: Availability Integrity, which may include authenticity and non-repudiation Confidentiality. Around fourteen participants are attending the programme.

The Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) organized a workshop on “ESG for Youth: Building Sustainable Mindsets for River and Climate Action” under the IIPA-led Blended Capacity Building Programme for Stakeholders of River Ganga-Phase II on 11 March 2026 at Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi. The programme aimed to introduce students and young researchers to the growing relevance of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles in promoting sustainable development and responsible leadership. The workshop commenced with opening remarks highlighting the importance of youth engagement in sustainability and environmental governance by Prof.(Sr.) Molly K.A. Principal, Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi. Prof. Vinod Kumar Sharma, Project Investigator emphasized the role of young professionals in integrating ESG values into future corporate, social and policy frameworks. The session was further enriched by Dr. Saket Bihari, Project Investigator who discussed the evolving ESG landscape and the need for ethical and responsible decision-making among the younger generation. The programme featured expert insights from Dr. Himanshu Kumar, Programme Trainer who conducted interactive sessions and exercises to help participants understand the practical application of ESG principles.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from young researchers leading to engaging discussions on how ESG frameworks can guide sustainable development, responsible consumption and environmental protection.

A group of faculty members and postgraduate students of Public Administration and Law programmes of the Manohar Parrikar School of Law, Governance and Public Policy (MPSLGPP), Goa University visited the Institute and interacted with the DG Dr Surendrakumar Bagde and Prof V N Alok. They also had an interactive session with Prof V N Alok on the latest facets of governance, Dr Alakhnanda Shringare, Vice Dean, Research, MPSLGPP led the group.

Under the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA)-led “Blended Capacity Building Programme for Stakeholders of River Ganga – Phase II”, sponsored by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), Day 2 of the two-day training programme was conducted on 26th February 2026 (2:30 PM – 5:00 PM | Online Mode). The session focused on Stakeholder Engagement, with emphasis on enhancing public participation in river conservation efforts.
Officials and representatives from Bihar actively took part in the discussions. The deliberations included updates on ongoing NMCG initiatives, the roles and responsibilities of District Ganga Committees (DGCs), coordination among states, and approaches to involving local communities in Ganga conservation.
The session encouraged knowledge sharing and strengthened the collective resolve towards ensuring a cleaner and rejuvenated Ganga.

The theme focusing on key initiatives and action frameworks for river rejuvenation under NMCG. The session emphasized strengthening institutional mechanisms and enhancing the functional capacity of District Ganga Committees (DGCs).
Officials and representatives from Bihar actively participated in the interactive discussions, covering ongoing NMCG initiatives, defined roles and responsibilities of DGCs, inter-state coordination, and community engagement strategies for sustainable Ganga conservation. The session fostered collaborative learning and reinforced a shared commitment towards a cleaner and rejuvenated Ganga.

The two-day special training programme on mobilization of municipal own source revenue, deputy commissioners, dy. controller of accounts, finance officers, executive officers, engineers from five states/UTs concluded on 25th February, 2026. The participants presented take-home points on taxes and non-taxes sources of municipal finance. Valedictory address was given by Dr. Surendrakumar Bagde, IAS, DG, IIPA who emphasized the need for IT enabled governance with particular focus on AI to have systemic reforms for revenue enhancement. In this regard cities should collaborate with technical institutions like IITs/IIITs in their respective areas.

Centre for Urban Studies (CUS), IIPA has organized a two-day special training programme on Mobilisation of Municipal Own Source Revenue from February 24–25, 2026.
Prof. K.K. Pandey, CUS, Coordinator welcomed the participants and explained the objectives and expected outcomes of the programme. Dr Surendrakumar Bagde, IAS, DG, IIPA delivered the inaugural address. He highlighted the importance of strengthening Municipal OSR to maintain infrastructure such as roads, drainage, water supply and services like solid waste management.
A group of 25 Municipal Commissioners, Dy Commissioners, Dy. Controller of Accounts, Finance Officers, Executive Officers, Engineers etc. from 20 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of Bihar, Punjab, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh are attending the workshop.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Amit Kumar Singh.
