Learning about Taiwan’s crown jewel: semiconductors 💾 During the delegation’s visit to UMC, Vice President Kuo Linwu and Government Affairs Senior Representatives Ruth Hung and Fa Chuan Wang highlighted the company's critical role in the mature-node semiconductor ecosystem. #IIPSinTaiwan

@IIPS_org had an opportunity to learn from Minister Liu Shyh-Fang and other officials from the Ministry of the Interior on the core principles of Taiwan’s whole-of-society resilience mission. MOI agency leads also shared with us how they fit into Taiwan’s larger resiliency effort. #IIPSinTaiwan

Rounding out the day was a visit to @MOFA_Taiwan to see Minister Lin Chia-lung. We exchanged views on how the U.S. and Taiwan can strengthen their relations amidst a turbulent security environment. #IIPSinTaiwan

@IIPS_org met with President Han Kuo-yu of the Legislative Yuan. We thank President Han for bringing together key political leaders from across party lines. A commitment to dialogue and cross-party cooperation is essential to navigating this landscape! 🤝 #IIPSinTaiwan

📅 Last full day in Taipei 🇹🇼 The delegation began by visiting President Lai Ching-te. After an exchange of opening remarks, the delegation sat down for a closed door discussion. We made our pilgrimage to Taipei 101 🏙️ and Din Tai Fung, with @IIPS_org's @mike_mazza and Grace Price. We couldn’t get enough of pork xiaolongbao (pork soup dumpling), chocolate xiaolongbao, and more. We saw them get made - 21 grams of deliciousness and perfect 18 folds. 😋 #IIPSinTaiwan

Next stop: @TaiwanDset The DSET team presented their latest work, including a wealth of policy reports on Taiwan’s key defense, technology, and energy security concerns, and their advocacy for Taiwan in the United States and international forums. #IIPSinTaiwan

After a delicious Cantonese lunch, we spent an afternoon with Taiwan think tanks 🧠. First up: @INDSRTW. We participated in a round table with CEO Ko Chen-Heng and his team, discussing Taiwan’s wartime energy supply chains and PRC readiness to implement a Taiwan contingency. #IIPSinTaiwan

Connecting with our friends at the American Institute in Taiwan 🇺🇸. We discussed Taiwan’s military modernization efforts and defense readiness, with director Raymond Greene offering an encouraging picture of Taiwan's trajectory over the past few years. #IIPSinTaiwan

Another busy day in Taiwan 🙌🏼 We started off our day with a visit to Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs. Minister Kung Ming-hsin shared about Taiwan’s efforts to strengthen its economic and energy security against the threat of natural disasters and a potential Taiwan contingency. #IIPSinTaiwan

We ended the day with the @MAC_Taiwan, where Minister Chiu Chui-cheng spoke on China’s coercion efforts against Taiwan. He stressed that MAC seeks to maintain peaceful, cross-strait relations, but will not lose sight of China’s actions to undermine this peace. #IIPSinTaiwan

Back in Taipei, @IIPS_org visited the @TAIWANoac, where Director General Chang Chung-Lung and his team shared their thoughts on actions Taiwan can take – independently and with international coordination – to counter Chinese grey zone warfare and undersea cable sabotage. #IIPSinTaiwan

@IIPS_org in Taichung 🚅. @ThunderTigerRC Chairman William Chen and Board Director Gene Su presented their company’s UAV models and boasted their Blue UAS certification - a U.S. initiative recognizing partners with secure, trusted supply chains.

We capped off the evening with a visit to the Linjiang Night Market, where TECRO representative Gillian Hu treated us to a delicious assortment of Taiwanese sausages, popcorn chicken, bao buns, and milk tea. 😍 #IIPSinTaiwan

Next stop: National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST). Vice President Lin Gau-Joe and his team gave the @IIPS_org delegation an exclusive tour of their missile and UAV prototypes and fielded platforms. #IIPSinTaiwan
