Student Advisory In light of the recent sightings of a leopard in areas near the H-10 New Campus, the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) wishes to reassure all students and residents that the situation is being addressed with utmost caution and responsibility. The matter has been formally taken up with the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) as well as the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Government of Pakistan, which are the competent authorities responsible for wildlife management in the Islamabad Capital Territory. The University is working in close coordination with these bodies and is extending all necessary facilitation to ensure that appropriate measures are taken in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Government of Pakistan. While the relevant authorities continue their monitoring and response operations, the University requests all students to remain calm and to act responsibly. It is important to understand that wild animals generally avoid human interaction when they are not provoked or disturbed. Students are therefore advised to observe the following precautions: Avoid unnecessary movement in isolated or vegetated areas of the campus, particularly during late evening or early morning hours. Do not attempt to approach, tease, or provoke the animal under any circumstances. Do not gather in groups near locations where sightings are reported. Avoid spreading unverified information or creating panic through social media or messaging platforms. Immediately inform campus security or hostel administration if any unusual sighting is observed. The University has enhanced lighting in sensitive areas and increased vigilance by campus security personnel to ensure the safety of the community. At the same time, the cooperation of students is essential so that the wildlife authorities can carry out their work effectively. The IIUI administration remains committed to the safety of its students and will continue to provide updates through official University channels only. Students are requested to remain calm, exercise caution, and cooperate fully with the University and the relevant authorities.
