IIUI Law Students Qualify for International Arbitration Moot Students from the Department of Law, Faculty of Shariah and Law at International Islamic University Islamabad have qualified to represent Pakistan at the Willem C. IIUI Appoints Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed as Vice President Research and Enterprise The Board of Governors of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has appointed Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed as Vice President, Research and Enterprise, with immediate effect for a two-year tenure. The appointment was approved in the 93rd BoG meeting held on May 11, 2026, following a competitive and transparent selection process. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed is a distinguished academician who also serves as Founding Executive Director of the Centre for Advanced Electronics and Photovoltaic Engineering (CAEPE). Dr. Shuja previously served as the Vice President (Research & Enterprise), Vice President (Academics) as well as the President of the University in addition to his responsibilities. He holds MS and PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Sweden and the UK respectively. He is a Visiting Professor at the James Watt School of Engineering, University of Glasgow. He is an elected fellow of several international scientific organizations. Dr. Shuja holds the biggest quantum of research and institutional funding in the University, and remained pivotal in shaping and executing large set projects and PC-1s for the University. He is the key author of the University's strategic Plan and represented on numerous national and international committees. His research focuses on modeling, simulation and optimization of energy systems through digital twin technology, spanning computational fluid dynamics, thermofluids, and energy management. He has accumulated over 2,600 academic citations through publications in high-impact international journals.
