Enjoy the dusk of the “Human Internet”. We elder millennials had the privilege and unique pleasure to have witnessed this fascinating thing be born, spread out, and evolve to become arguably the crowning achievement of civilization. I was raised by it, my entire 20+ year career was enabled by it, and what a damn beautiful ride it has been. Now things have dramatically changed: You can no longer believe that the image you’re liking is real, you can’t trust that that post you just commented on is true, and you cannot assume that that reply that made you angry came from a real person altogether - AI is already doing all that for us. The way us humans interact with data will also dramatically change: We won’t have to access websites, we will be free from using legacy software, and we’ll stop interacting with apps altogether - AI will very soon do all that for us. We’ll interface with AI, and AI will interface with everything else. We’re about to witness the dawn of the “AI Internet”.
