Moon knew exactly how much money he had and suspected Officer Henry Chapman of taking some of his money to the tune of 900 dollars. ​The bodycam footage later revealed the truth: Chapman had palmed the cash and stuffed it into the driver’s side door pocket of his patrol cruiser. ​ Officer Chapman was arrested by his own department within 6 hours of the incident. ​He resigned from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department the very next day. ​ In September 2024, Chapman entered an Alford Plea to felony embezzlement.
