The Lakers and Marcus Smart only make one trip to Boston each season, and I find it highly unlikely that Celtics fans would boo Smart.
He hasn’t done anything to deserve that kind of reception from a fan base that deeply respects him.

@MGE85 I don’t disagree with that, but calling him the “heart and soul of Boston for a decade” is laying it on thick. Do people not remember that we won a ring immediately AFTER he left? It’s completely fair to say he was a big contributor in holding the team back and he needed to go.

@IMEUDOKA2HELL I think the only non real fans of teams are individuals that follow players around. Marcus has a lot of qualities people of New England appreciate and relate to and we definitely overrate our guys, but they’re our guys especially the home grown players we get to see develop.

Yeah, that’s a brutal one for us Celtics fans. Marcus Smart was the heart and soul of Boston for nearly a decade… Grit, defense, hustle, and that unfiltered fire. Seeing him suit up for the Lakers, of all team??? 🤮 The purple and piss just pissed me off
