@keeeeeeevs My memories of learning history in the Philippines consisted of memorising dates & events. When I moved overseas, it became less about remembering facts & more about analysing implications of events and how it affects society today. To me that made history like a living map.

Minsan, napapaisip na lang ako. As history teachers, did we fail to touch the minds and hearts of our students? Mali ba tayo ng paraan ng pagtuturo? Wala na ba talagang interes ang students? O, sadyang parehong biktima ng sistema ng edukasyon ang mga guro at estudyante?

I think many Filipinos would agree that if it wasn’t going to be Ahtisa, Olivia was the more deserving winner. I’m still dumbfounded by the results, but seeing how gracefully they’re handling everything, I know they’re going to be perfectly okay.
