I was inspired to create this piece called Transfusion for Sickle Cell Awareness Day after speaking with a few incredibly brave Sickle Cell Warriors who shared with me how challenging and difficult it is to live with this invisible but very invasive disease.

June 19 is World Sickle Cell Day. #SickleCell disease disproportionately impacts the Black community. Blood transfusion may help manage the disease. Blood donors who are Black may have a unique ability to help these patients. Give blood with the Red Cross: rcblood.org/3Akt8e0
