I’m thankful to report there were no youth arrests & no use of the Connection Center last night downtown. Our Connection Center, staffed by IMPD, OPHS, & volunteer community partners, will be activated again tonight.  Parents, please keep an eye on your kids. They deserve it.

As we head into the weekend, we want to remind our community of Indiana’s curfew law for those 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟴. If a juvenile is found in violation of curfew, officers will transport them to a safe location called the 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, where IMPD, OPHS and community partners will provide food, resources, and support. Parents or guardians will be notified and given time to pick up their child. If they cannot be reached, the juvenile may be taken to the juvenile detention center for a status offense, which is not an arrest and does not create a criminal record. The safety and well-being of our youth remains a shared priority. This collaborative effort aims to support families, connect youth to services, and help keep downtown and neighborhoods safe for everyone.

The men and women of IMPD are holding the Beech Grove Police Department and the family of Officer Brian Elliott close in our thoughts after this heartbreaking line of duty loss. We are also keeping the injured officer in our prayers as they recover in the hospital. We stand together with you, today and in the difficult days ahead.
