The news of the bail granted to Mr. @Pawankhera by the Hon’ble Supreme Court has reaffirmed our faith in Justice and the Constitution. We hope that truth and justice will always prevail. Mr. Pawan Khera and the Congress party will continue to express views with courage and determination, and play a leading role in upholding democratic values.

To ensure the neutrality of vote counting, a delegation constituted by the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee has begun monitoring the strong rooms from April 25. In Upper Assam, the delegation - led by Shri @DsaikiaOfficial , and comprising of Shri Raju Sahu, Utpal Gogoi, Rajkumar Neelnetra Neog, David Phukan, and Advocate Mrityunjoy Duwara - inspected strong rooms in Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat, and Golaghat. The team also interacted with candidates and held meetings with district administration officials. We remain committed to safeguarding a healthy democracy and protecting the rights of the people.

Unplanned and unscientific construction ≠ Development Today, a delegation from the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee and the Guwahati Metropolitan District Congress Committee visited flood-affected residents in the Hatigaon and Juripar areas. The residents of Guwahati city are reeling under artificial flooding. The people of Guwahati are being forced to suffer due to the government’s unplanned and unscientific schemes - schemes only to benefit Himanta Biswa Sarma and his favourite contractors.

Today marks one year since the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, where 26 innocent Indian citizens were killed. We remember them with deep humility and respect. This cowardly act by Pakistan will forever be remembered by every citizen of India. We will not forget; we will not forgive!

On the death anniversary of the Late Hiteswar Saikia, a skilled administrator in Assam’s political history and former Chief Minister, we pay our heartfelt tributes. At a very complex and critical time for the state, he took on the responsibility of Chief Minister and, with great courage, succeeded in restoring peace and stability - an achievement that continues to inspire us even today. Not only as a politician but also as a visionary leader, he dedicated his entire life to the overall development of every section of society and the welfare of the people. His contributions as the Governor of Mizoram, along with the wise and courageous steps he took towards the modernization of Assam, will always be remembered with gratitude by the people of Assam.

If the Home Minister, Amit Shah, fails to answer the Opposition’s logical questions on the floor of the House, he diverts the issue elsewhere. This government and its spokespersons repeatedly claimed that there would be a 50 percent increase in seats in every state, but there is no mention of this in the Bill. Earlier as well, Amit Shah made several statements on the floor of Parliament - promises were made regarding the implementation of the Assam Accord, especially Clause 6, but the Centre has still not implemented them.

Delimitation was a clear attempt by the BJP to reduce the representation of Tamil Nadu, the Southern states, and the Northeast in Parliament. We stopped it in Parliament and defeated this attack on the idea of India. INDIA Alliance will always protect Tamil identity - and India’s unity, diversity, and every voice that makes it strong.

यह महिला आरक्षण बिल नहीं है - इसका महिलाओं से कोई संबंध नहीं। यह बिल OBC विरोधी है, यह बिल SC-ST विरोधी है, यह बिल Anti National है - दक्षिण, उत्तर-पूर्व, उत्तर-पश्चिम और छोटे राज्यों के खिलाफ है। हम भारत जोड़ने वाले न किसी का हक़ छिनने देंगे, न देश को बंटने देंगे।

The proposal put forward by Congress and major opposition parties is simple. 1) Implement Women’s Reservation unconditionally without waiting for updated national census or seat delimitation. 2) Expedite the work of national census and ensure accurate representation of major and minor communities especially OBC, SC, ST. 3) Build a national consensus on delimitation so that our nation’s integrity and its federal character is strengthened. The BJP should stop being over smart and mix up all three major issues. Stop trying to bulldoze an unfair delimitation and delay the caste census in the garb of women’s reservation.

Women's reservation should not be linked with delimitation. Women's reservation should be implemented on current strength of Lok Sabha - 543, we will fully support you. You want to bring it in 2029, please do it. But you do politics in everything, politics of symbolism in everything. The makers of our Constitution never intended delimitation to become a tool of any political party. The purpose of delimitation was that as the population grows, Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies should be redrawn accordingly so that people can receive better administrative services. However, how delimitation is now being used as a political tool is evident from the examples of Jammu & Kashmir and Assam. In Jammu & Kashmir, the delimitation was done by the Delimitation Commission and the 2011 Census was used as the basis, whereas in Assam, delimitation was done by the the Election Commission and they used the 2001 Census as the basis. This clearly shows that the Modi government is using delimitation to strengthen its political power and consolidate its roots and not for the benefits of people. - @GauravGogoiAsm ji , Congress Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha
