Day 2 of #IMMEDIATE progress meeting in Milan with partners joining in person and online. We started with a presentation by Alex Dickens, who presented the work of our sister project @INITIALISE_EU. Continuing with workshops to discuss the details and needs of each work package.

Lots happened @INITIALISE_EU since it kicked off. 2 new partners, papers in top tier journals (including one coming out soon), this year large scale #multiomics studies being initiated (incl #glycomics, new addition), mechanistic studies in high gear. Next year mtg in Stockholm.

Researchers @BioscienceTurku and @InFLAMES_Health have identified a gene expression signature that can predict the progression of type 1 diabetes. One benefit of such predictive signature could be the ability to intervene earlier in the disease process. utu.fi/en/news/press-…

Busy 1st day @INITIALISE_EU kickoff in Turku. Setting up #multiomics longitudinal studies across multiple birth cohort studies, with many different outcomes, is quite challenging, but we are well on the way. Now time for 1st consortium dinner! @BioscienceTurku @InFLAMES_Health
