The IL Department of Public Health is urging people to get the new COVID-19 vaccine that covers the strains of the virus currently circulating. It's also time to get your annual flu shot and there is an RSV vaccine for seniors and an RSV preventative for babies.

IDPH announces 2023's 1st IL human West Nile virus death. The individual, who was in their 90’s and lived in suburban Cook County, had an onset of symptoms of WNV in early August and died soon after. IDPH is also reporting 11 non-fatal cases of WNV so far this year.
