Members of the #IOFSSecretariat visited polling stations in #Astana to observe the voting process. Like many citizens across the country, the IOFS Director General also participated in the national referendum in #Kazakhstan.

On the occasion of #InternationalWomensDay, the Islamic Organisation for Food Security expresses its sincere appreciation for the invaluable contributions of women across IOFS Member States to sustainable development, resilient communities & the advancement of food security. IOFS remains committed to advancing women’s empowerment, meaningful participation & leadership as essential pillars of inclusive & sustainable development.

During a working visit to Baku, H.E.D.G. of IOFS Amb.@BerikAryn, met w/ H.E. Majnun Mammadov, Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani side expressed readiness to sign the IOFS Statute, paving the way for accession to the Organisation. HEDG also held consultations w/ H.E. Ramil Hasan, Secretary General of @TURK_PA, exploring opportunities for cooperation in promoting food security and agricultural policy dialogue among Turkic States.

On this blessed Friday of #Ramadan, IOFS, led by Director General H.E. Ambassador @BerikAryn, distributed food baskets to families in need at Abu Nasr Al-Farabi Mosque in #Astana, supporting vulnerable households in need during the holy month.

On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of the Gambia, the Islamic Organisation for Food Security extends its cordial congratulations!

IOFS and the @CropTrust have signed an MoU to advance cooperation on food security, agricultural sustainability & crop diversity conservation. The MoU was signed by Director General of IOFS, H.E. Amb. @BerikAryn and Executive Director of Crop Trust, Dr. Stefan Schmitz, establishing a framework for joint activities in knowledge exchange, capacity-building, and support to national genebanks across IOFS Member States. Through this cooperation, both organisations reaffirm their shared commitment to safeguarding crop diversity and reinforcing long-term food security resilience at regional and global levels.

IOFS took part in Dala.Camp Forum 2026 in #Burabay, where Director General H.E. Amb. @BerikAryn joined high-level discussions on the future of Kazakhstan’s #meatindustry. Speaking on Kazakhstan’s role in the global meat market, he highlighted rising global demand, the strong livestock base across @OIC_OCI countries & the untapped potential to expand intra-OIC meat trade. He underscored that sustainable export growth depends on quality, reliability of supply, and full compliance with international veterinary standards. The Forum brought together government, industry leaders, investors & international partners to advance productivity, value chain development & food security resilience.

IOFS held a Regional Technical Consultation on market access barriers for @OIC_OCI meat exporters, in cooperation with the @WOAH. Veterinary authorities from #CentralAsia & #Azerbaijan discussed key challenges limiting intra-OIC #meattrade and identified priority areas for coordinated reform. The outcomes will support stronger regional trade and food security.

IOFS #ExpertVoices from #Baghdad 🇮🇶 Participants of the national workshop on Strengthening the Policy & Institutional Framework for Climate-Smart Agriculture shared strong support for advancing soil health, combating desertification, and reinforcing legislative reform in Iraq. Organized by the IOFS in cooperation w/ Iraq’s Ministry of Agriculture, the 4-day workshop concluded with key recommendations to support a climate-resilient agricultural future under IOFS Vision 2031.

From 9–12 Feb in #Baghdad, IOFS and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Iraq convened a national workshop on Climate-Smart Agriculture 🌱🇮🇶 Focused on soil health, combating desertification & strengthening policy frameworks, the workshop advanced recommendations to support Iraq’s transition toward a resilient and sustainable agri-food system.

On 13 Feb in #Astana, H.E. Amb. @BerikAryn, DG of IOFS, met w/ Mr. Baurzhan Asanov, Chairman of the Board of #NASEC – The National Agrarian Science and Education Center. The meeting reaffirmed strong partnership and advanced cooperation in agricultural science, plant genetic resources & capacity development to support sustainable agri-food systems and food security.
