During the cross-disciplinary SIG Pain and Placebo symposium at the IASP Congress, organized by Luana Colloca, @AndreaEvers and Damien Finniss, the latest research on placebo and nocebo mechanisms was discussed, uniting basic science, clinical research, and healthcare education.

What a milestone: the first #Erasmus Summer school of the #PANACEA consortium in Madrid (July 15-19) on #placebo and #nocebo effects, offering high-level interdisciplinary training to students on #placebo and #nocebo effects from various #UNAEuropa universities.

New publication that gives a comprehensive view of the magnitude of #nocebo effects in a systematic review and #metaanalysis. A combination of conditioning and verbal suggestions yielded strong nocebo responses on pain in particular. read the full paper... journals.lww.com/psychosomaticm…
