Today we meet with Speakers of #Parliaments in Geneva🇨🇭, an apt location considering it is the city of multilateralism, and @IPUparliament's HQ. In this vital year for women and girls, let us work together to achieve our goal of leading for inclusive and lasting peace. #6WCSP

As we mark 30 years since the Beijing Declaration + Platform for Action, today I welcomed Women Speakers of Parliament to #15SWSP. In 1995, 10% of Speaker seats were held by women. Today that has risen to 21.2%. This is transformative + irreversible - but the pace is too slow.

We have a unique opportunity to have our parliamentary voices heard at #IPU's HLPF + highlight the work needed to achieve the #SDGs. With SDG5 mostly off track, it is timely that @IPUparliament is putting #genderequality centre stage. Access the campaign ➡️ipu.org/AbA

We urge India and Pakistan to show maximum restraint amid growing tensions in #Kashmir. We call on our Member #Parliaments to encourage their governments to de-escalate and protect all communities from further harm. Diplomacy and dialogue are the only ways to resolve this crisis.
