Public Announcement: Make sure to try to vote early to double check your voter status registration. I have been an active voter forever and double checked my status months ago. I just attempted to vote early in NYC and they claimed my voter status was "inactive" because I haven't voted in a while. Which is completely false as I had evidence. Poll worker then proceeds to tell me to that it's a technical issue that sometimes happens and that I can vote via affidavit only. I said no and asked to speak to the poll site manager who was taken back my account being "inactive". She told me to go to the NYC Board of Elections office which was thankfully not that far away from the site. The representative investigated and apparently USPS stated I have recent "returned mail". Which makes no sense because I didn't. He reassured me that he had to re-register me (provided me with a time stamped receipt) and I would be able to vote in a few days without an affidavit. 🗳️ Guys, I don't think I need to say more. 💡
