💭 How can we inspire youths to discover meaningful careers in public service?
 Last week, IRAS launched our first Career GPS Programme with Children’s Wishing Well (CWW), in collaboration with Singapore Land Authority (SLA). We welcomed a mix of secondary school and polytechnic students to Revenue House, giving them a firsthand glimpse into careers in the public service.💡   The programme opened with Director Aaron Ng’s welcome address, followed by presentations by our Compliance Strategy & Tax Recovery Division, Human Resources and Capabilities team, and Investigation and Forensics Division. Through these interactive talks, students gained insight into IRAS’ role in tax administration and nation-building, and the diverse career pathways within the organisation.   🌱 The Career GPS Programme exposes youths to different careers in various industries, helping them to find their passion and pursue their goals. These fraudulent emails often contain links to phishing sites or malware.   Stay safe: ✅ Do not click on links or download attachments/programs ✅ Never disclose personal, internet banking details, or one-time passwords (OTPs) ✅ Check for updates or refunds via myTax portal at mytax.iras.gov.sg   Remember, IRAS never emails your tax refund amount. #TaxCrime On 17 March 2026, tax investigators from IRAS conducted island-wide raids at over 20 business premises and residential locations, as part of investigations into several suspected Goods and Services Tax (GST) refund fraud cases. The operation led to the arrest of one female suspect, aged 56, for one of the cases. Accounting records, electronic devices, and other evidence linked to the alleged offences were seized, including 179 luxury watches estimated to be worth more than $1 million. In 2025, more than 1,300 businesses making GST refund claims were audited, resulting in a recovery of over $100 million in taxes and penalties. 💼 Businesses and individuals are encouraged to report any suspected tax malpractices or disclose any past tax mistakes.
