2 Corinthians 4:17-18 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Everything in this world is temporary. Money fades. Beauty fades. Fame fades. Possessions fade. Even life itself passes like a shadow. One moment people have everything. The next moment, it is all gone. That is why the greatest thing anyone can have is not wealth, status, or applause it is Christ. If you have Jesus, whether in life or in death, your eternity is secure in Him. The lust of the flesh is fleeting. The pride of life is fleeting. The things people destroy themselves over today will one day mean nothing in the light of eternity. “Vanity upon vanity, all is vanity.” says Solomon. Bitterness is not worth it. Hatred is not worth it. Living far from God is not worth it. This life is short. Eternity is forever. So prepare your heart. Stay close to Christ. Walk in repentance. Forgive quickly. Love deeply. And make sure you are truly ready to meet God.
