ISB's Centre for Analytical Finance (CAF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA), Government of Andhra Pradesh, to strengthen financial inclusion through a data-driven credit architecture for underserved urban households and micro-entrepreneurs. The MoU was signed between Prof @TantriPrasanna, Executive Director, CAF, and Vakati Karuna, Mission Director, MEPMA (FAC) & Ex-Officio Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, in the presence of Shri @ncbn, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and @Anitha_TDP, Minister of Home Affairs and Disaster Management, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The initiative reflects a joint commitment to improving access to formal finance through evidence-based policy design and institutional collaboration. As the knowledge partner, CAF will design a research-driven credit scoring framework using administrative data, econometric analysis, and machine-learning methods to improve risk assessment for borrowers with limited credit history. The initiative aims to reduce information asymmetry, enable risk-aligned lending, and expand responsible access to formal credit for Self-Help Groups, street vendors, and micro-enterprises, while also piloting improved financing structures to support enterprise growth. #ISB #MoU
