“I took the view that this (India) is where the economic engine of the world is, and I wanted to be a part of it,” shares Thomas Hyland (PGP Class of 2010), who Co-founded Aspada after graduation, in this episode of Impact Chronicles. Believing in India’s potential for impact and growth, Thomas made the unconventional move from the United States to India. What began as exploration soon turned into deep immersion in India’s startup and investment ecosystem. He is working at the intersection of finance, entrepreneurship, and impact to build and back businesses tackling real challenges across sectors. Choosing to pursue his management education at ISB was also a deliberate step, not just for a world-class education, but as a way to anchor himself in India and be part of its growth journey. Watch him in conversation with @KumaraGuru, Senior Director – Alumni Engagement at ISB, as he reflects on that decision and the opportunities he saw in building from within India: youtu.be/Yo7bRRKXyMk #ISB #ISBAlumni #ImpactChronicles

.@PramathSinha, Founding Dean, ISB, in an opinion piece in @the_hindu, underscores the need to place scholarships at the centre of India’s higher education strategy. He suggests that the focus must move beyond increasing seats to addressing core challenges around access, affordability, and quality. He further highlights how this approach is reflected at ISB, where financial aid is designed to enable access, nurture talent, and build diverse, high-quality academic communities. We are pleased to announce a significant expansion of the Taparia Family Scholarships at ISB, supported by a generous gift from Shri Vijaykumar Taparia of Supreme Industries Limited. With this enhanced commitment, the scope of the multi-year scholarship programme will now double to support 100 students with full tuition fee waivers, across PGP and PGP YL. The MoU for the enhancement of the gift was exchanged between Shri Vijaykumar Taparia and Dean Madan Pillutla, in the presence of Shri Shivratan Taparia, Smt Rachna Rathi and other members of the Taparia family, and @KumaraGuru, Senior Director – Advancement, Alumni Engagement and External Relations. Instituted initially by Shri Mahavir Prasad Taparia and Shri Shivratan Taparia as part of the Taparia family’s commitment to education and nation-building, the scholarships have already enabled access for 10 deserving students at ISB in the last year. This milestone reflects the impact of sustained partnerships in building an inclusive and future-ready academic ecosystem. #ISB #ScholarshipsAtISB
