🌍✨ International Women’s Day This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the Digitruck Salone project in Sierra Leone, which is opening digital doors for rural women and girls. 📲 Through mobile digital classrooms, they are bringing Internet access, digital literacy, and new opportunities directly to communities that have long been left behind. The Digitruck Salone Project is implemented by Media Matters for Women (MMW) @MMWSierraLeone in partnership with Close the Gap @closethegaporg and funded through the Internet Society Foundation’s BOLT Grant Program. 👩‍💻 An open, accessible Internet becomes truly powerful when women are connected, empowered, and leading. ❗ The 2026 Sustainable Peering Infrastructure Grant Program is now open for applications. 🌐 The program supports Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) and peering infrastructure initiatives that help strengthen local Internet ecosystems, improve affordability and reliability, and keep traffic local. 👉 Eligible organizations can apply to one of two funding types - IXP Support (up to USD $50,000) or Peering Ecosystem Support (up to USD $25,000). 🌏 While applications from any eligible organization are welcome, a strong preference will be given to applications from United Nations-recognized Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). 🗓️ Applications close on 23 April 2026. 🔗 Learn more and apply: isocfoundation.org/2026/03/applic… #IXP #Peering #LDCs #SIDS #SPI #Grants

Introducing the new Common Good Cyber Fund grant program 🛜 Cyberattacks are rising in frequency, sophistication, and harm, disproportionately targeting civil society organizations, journalists, human rights defenders, dissidents, and vulnerable communities. 🌐The Common Good Cyber Fund (CGCF) strengthens global cybersecurity by supporting nonprofit organizations that deliver critical services underpinning the Internet’s core infrastructure and protecting civil society actors at high risk. The Fund addresses the persistent underfunding of essential cybersecurity capabilities. 🤝CGCF was launched by the Internet Society, in close collaboration with the Common Good Cyber Ecosystem Committee and a Strategic Advisory Committee, and is funded by a mix of donors, including governments, philanthropic partners, and the Internet Society.

🇰🇪 With support from the Mawingu Foundation @MawinguInternet and funding from the Internet Society Foundation through the BOLT grant, this remote pastoral community in Isiolo County, in Kenya, has established a Community Resource Centre that brings Internet access, computers, and digital skills training closer to home. And the most inspiring part?
