The 2024 @ISSP_survey General Assembly has begun in beautiful #CoogeeBeach, #Sydney, #Australia! On the agenda is finalizing the 2025 Work Orientation survey module.

88% of #Canadian respondents in the 2023 @ISSP_survey say that, in order to be a good #citizen, it is important or very important to keep watch on the actions of #government

Rates of pride in Canada's democracy are a bit lower in 2023 than in 1995, but a vast majority of respondents in 2023 are still somewhat or very proud of how Canadian democracy works.

Now that the 2023 @ISSP_survey #Canada data on #nationalidentity and #citizenship are available, time to make some interesting comparisons with the first time this survey module was run in 1995. First up are attitudes towards #democracy in Canada:

(2/2) This measure of Christian #nationalism will be included again in the 2023 ISSP survey that we’re running in Canada this fall, and it will be interesting to see how people’s answers to this question have changed over the past 20 years.

(1/2) The last time #Canada was included in the @ISSP_survey’s national identity module was in 2003. In that year, 42% of #Canadian respondents said that it was fairly or very important to be a #Christian to be truly Canadian.
