🌱Update from the 8th Edition of the ISTA List of Stabilised Plant Names: seedtest.org/en/services-he… 🌾The 7th edition introduced ranks below species and, in some cases, replaced species names with their autonymic subspecies. ⚠️This created some practical challenges. ✅To address this, the 8th edition restores species names. 📌Key principle: Always use the most accurate name possible. If subspecies can be confirmed (e.g., Hordeum vulgare subsp. vulgare), they should be used; otherwise, the species name remains correct. #seedquality #seedtesting #ISTAtools
