@Atomsmade You "borrowed" all those concepts from Judeo-Christian ethics. You are only a "one cushion bounce shot" off of Christianity - and a cultural plagerist.
English

@xonphused If God made Himself visible and accessible to everyone, then everyone would then know His will, and that knowledge would destroy their Free Will (you're going to defy the will of God, who is right in front of your face?), rendering everyone nothing but puppets.
English

@whatasillyyfox @orthofin I'm not saying that, I merely stated a fact.
How is it incoherent though?
English

@whatasillyyfox @orthofin They are the vast majority in english speaking countries, and almost all in many european countries and other nations like China and Japan.
English

@ISignumI @orthofin So you make a claim. Then when pressed you present evidence for a different claim. They may be the majority but they are not ALMOST ALL, your claim inferes that nearly the entire total was compromised of atheists.

@orthofin Almost all philosophers are atheists according to statistics. And personal experience.
English

@OrthoIconodule @orthofin Augustine's influence didn't last as long and ans deeply as the likes of Aristotle and Kant.
English

@whatasillyyfox @orthofin Yes, the statistic I posted is only for english speaking philosophers, so in countries like the US it's around 70%. In European countries, where atheism is much more pronounced than in the US, the statistics are higher.
English

@ISignumI @WeltgeistYT Is anyone suggesting we get rid of morality.
English

Nietzsche vindicated again. He exposed this type of thinking already in 1888, when he called out English philosophy for trying to get rid of God, yet affirm his morality all the same.
"For the English, morality is not yet a problem." It seems like it still isn't.
Nina 🐈⬛@sapphicnightowl
No Patrick, being a decent human being is not "internalized Christian morality"
English

@OrthoIconodule @orthofin It simply doesn't. Governments don't appeal to god, laws are not passed because of god, science doesn't concern with god.
English

@LeBasedLiberal Islam might have the edge now, I have to check the latest statistics.
English

@ISignumI It is the most dominant worldwide, with Islam as a close second
English

Because Christianity is the most dominant religion today. And no, that’s not evidence that it’s true
Lord’s Bigfoot@HarlanJake2003
@athiestboi Look at your own page and tell me what religion you attack the most? It’s going to be Christianity and it’s going to be by a wide margin.
English

@OrthoIconodule @orthofin @JayDyer Let's say that if you write like that it doesn't exactly signal top intellectual capacity.
I've seen enough of that guy. Probably one of the most unintelligent and cringe exhibitions I've had the misfortune of finding on here.
But again, it explains a lot.
English

@OrthoIconodule @orthofin of the universe, the christian god has no place in political institutions...
English

@OrthoIconodule @orthofin The church is not relevant after the Enlightenment, and even during the Reinessance. So it hasn't been relevant for centuries.
Modern science and philosophy have developed in spite of the church, and they won. Evolution is the accepted norm worldwide, The Earth in not the center
English

@OrthoIconodule @orthofin @JayDyer Yeah, from what I've seen if that guy is your intellectual reference I'm sorry for you.
But it would explain a lot, indeed.
English

@OrthoIconodule @orthofin @JayDyer Who? Who's that guy?
Yeah, the argument is ridicolous, because it's based on a misreading of Kant. And I specialize in Kant.
English

@orthofin @OrthoIconodule Oh, you're trying to run that ridicolous argument based on a misreading of Kant, called TAG.
This might be fun, especially considering that in the future I'll likely publish something easily accessible for people to demolish it.
What do you mean by objective?
English

@ISignumI @OrthoIconodule Are you able to justify the existence of objective knowledge and reasoning yet orrrrrr
English

@orthofin @OrthoIconodule Well, you didn't offer anything other than memes and void statements. Nothing you've said shows even a vague understanding of philosophy.
English

@ISignumI @OrthoIconodule Notice how you constantly evade actually talking about them by pivoting to talking about people who talk about them. Dumb sophistry
