In English we say “You hurt me” In poetry we say:

History (humanity), math (logic) and physics (nature) should be top tier mandatory subjects. Schools should make sure students leave school with solid and above minimum knowledge in all three. Wouldn’t the world be very different if every human had that knowledge? I think about this often.

What subjects should be mandatory in schools?

Reading alone doesn’t make you sharp. You can read junk and still think poorly. And you can read a lot and never question anything. But yes, the blunt truth is that people who never read end up thinking in cliches. They recycle phrases and opinions or even emotions they picked up elsewhere. Nothing original.

When you stop reading books, you start losing verbal dexterity, depth of thought and imagination. A closed book is a closed mind. Don't EVER stop reading.

Books are amazing because a stranger from 200 years ago can still ruin your afternoon emotionally.
