This Cuban-American hasn't been back to Cuba since 1996. His father never lived to see this moment. His grandmother d∗ed on that island. His uncle d∗ed on that island. Neither of them ever saw freedom. And then he watched Code Pink liberals fly to Havana on a pre-approved government tour, sit in an air-conditioned building, and give dictator Díaz-Canel a standing ovation. His message was direct: 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻. He laid out exactly what these "humanitarian missions" actually are: the Cuban government decides what you film, where you go, and what you're allowed to see. Every stop is pre-approved. While they were in their air-conditioned hotel — the only building on the block with lights on — real Cubans were sitting in the dark. Rolling blackouts that have been going on for 30 years. The supplies they brought? Already confiscated. 𝟭𝟭 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 — 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻'𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟭𝟭 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘄𝗮𝘆. He asked the only question that matters: do you want Cuban people to keep suffering so Donald Trump doesn't get the credit for ending it? Because that's what this looks like from where he's standing. The embargo has been in place since Kennedy. The Bay of Pigs was 65 years ago. 67 years of this regime — and the people who claim to care about Cuba keep running interference for the government that's oppressing them. I have been against a TikTok ban for a long time, because it goes against freedom of speech. That said, the current situation where TikTok is allowed to operate in America, but 𝕏 is not allowed to operate in China is unbalanced. Something needs to change.
