“Dreams come with a price, Ms. Ysabel. I know you can pay it—even with regrets.” I tried to give her an assuring smile while gesturing her to move toward the photobooth in the corner.

"Ms. Silverstone, don’t worry," the young man said, as if he was reading my thoughts. "This is your 4th visit to The Silver Reels. It’s normal to feel disoriented and confused at first. Give it a week, and the memories will come back. Just like your previous attempts."

She’d heard the tape needed the regrets of at least 30 people to work. Reopening a rundown theatre seemed like the perfect plan—especially since acting was all she knew.

Emma never imagined she would have the power to return to the past—let alone consider it possible—the first time she set foot inside The Silver Reel. All she wanted was to rent a few chick flicks to escape the sting of betrayal.

She couldn’t stop thinking about the accident, and this was her only chance to do her revenge. If only Josephine didn’t go to this Theatre, she wouldn’t have died. She thought to herself. She stepped inside, going through the alley to reach the Director’s room.

She didn’t see the truck until it was too late. The screech of tires and the crash of metal filled the air. Pain surged through her, and then everything went black.

“That car crash.. No matter how much people have been telling me that it wasn’t my fault, I couldn’t help but think about it. And I wish I could undo what I said to her, but... I thought about you. About us. And I couldn’t. But I still feel awful for even going there.”

Selena stood up, her voice sharp. “But you thought about it. You went there. How am I supposed to feel, knowing you were willing to risk everything for someone who’s gone?”

Selena’s expression hardened. “You wanted to change the past? Even if it meant undoing everything we have?”

“I can’t risk losing what I have now.” Josephine then decided to go home, leaving behind what was about to start.

“That car crash.. No matter how much people have been telling me that it wasn’t my fault, I couldn’t help but think about it. And I wish I could undo what I said to her, but... I thought about you. About us. And I couldn’t. But I still feel awful for even going there.”
