Very much this. There were clear signals in the season 2 BTS that a lot of the townhouse was recreated on a European soundstage. There’s probably permanent props still located in America.

It's 100% normal. It's basically them not wanting to pay storage on items they know they won't be using anymore. Even on the amazing stuff, a lot of it's marked as "back-up" or "non-hero" (like Claudia's diaries), meaning they likely had multiples and these are the spares. #IWTV

This being said, if you’re concerned about the numbers watch IWTV legally as much as you can. Avoid using downloads or screeners and stream it on AMC+ or Netflix. It’s easy to forget that being a fan doesn’t translate to numeric success for the show unless you contribute.

Also, for those who weren’t present during S2 filming, specific fans were directly asked not to share what they saw. Everyone involved with the show have always been very transparent about when they don’t want information shared.

Respect for the cast and crew is, of course, always paramount. But some of this vigilance is seemingly misplaced. The show is filming on public property, not vice versa. Private soundstages are a different story.

(2/2) Especially because PR packages generally go out to advertising partners/personalities who aren’t specifically superfans, and it notably wasn’t sent to any non-industry fans that I’m aware of. Enjoy it, be excited, but don’t take every detail as S3 gospel.

I’ll do an infodoc if anyone is interested, but I wouldn’t look TOO deeply into the PR package Easter eggs. It’s an indicator of what’s to come, but it’s still likely none of the writers actually touched it and the marketing team was just given some general guidelines.

Lastly, and on a lighter note, the show does not require awards or even critical prestige to stay on the air. As long as IWTV is commercially viable it will most likely continue to be renewed, especially because of how much they spent on getting the Anne Rice IP.

This is an issue the show will most likely always face due to the network it is on. Unless a radical popularity spike occurs, the repeated award snubbing of IWTV to be later regarded years down the line is the most likely fate of the show. This is not doomposting, just reality.

AMC’s last major critical prestige show, Better Call Saul (also executive produced by Mark Johnson) featured two white, heterosexual leads and was nominated 53 times. It lost all 53, a near statistical impossibility. The odds unfortunately seem undeservedly stacked against Jacob.
