“One day you will ask me which is more important? My life or yours? I will say mine and you will walk away not knowing that you are my life.”
― Khalil Gibran
More morning jog views. Beauty and destruction. Mother Nature doing her thing. Supposed to be a farm road in the second photo, but a stream turned into a raging river. Still blessed to call this home. 😁😁🍷🍷
Modern crop production has become trapped in chain reactions.
One imbalance creates another.
One intervention triggers the next correction.
And slowly, the system begins managing us instead of the other way around.

Phytophthora root & crown rot of strawberry appears as patches of wilted plants. Leaves develop brown tissue b/w veins and plants collapse. A brown color appears in crown. Improve drainage & apply fungicides through drip-line in fields with history of the disease @plantdisease
I’m sharing Part 1 of my new 8-part series in AgriAbout:
From Symptoms to Systems: Part 1 - The Problem with Symptoms
This series is simple in idea:
🌾 Crops are not a list of problems.
🌾 They are systems.

The grower suspected Captan phytotoxicity on strawberry. Burn can result from applying the fungicide under hot dry humid conditions, at too high a concentration or too often. To avoid damage, spray during early morning or late evening and follow label rates & avoid over-applying
@IW_Consulting Accurate diagnosis requires looking at the whole system: soil, climate, management practices, and crop interactions—not just visible signs.
Most crop problems are not caused by a single factor
Yet they are diagnosed and treated as if they are
Yellow leaves? -Nutrient deficiency.
Lesions? -Disease.
Product is selected & applied
Is it control? The problem may be in the system & not the symptom
