@TugGGSN When they demolished Tigers Stadium, they auctioned off every single part. You could buy seats for a couple hundred (I got two) and they put the more individual things to auction, even the trough style urinals the players used in the dugout.

@Microinteracti1 All accurate except it's 45 men. Both Trump and Garfield had split terms. When Trump was sworn in he was 45th president, 44th man. Biden was 45th. He remains 44th for the 47th term of the presidency.

Abraham Lincoln got shot in the head and still managed to keep the country together. Franklin Roosevelt ran the entire Second World War from a wheelchair. Eisenhower defeated Hitler and then, just to stay busy, built 48,000 miles of motorway. Kennedy looked at the moon, said “we’ll have that,” and inside a decade they did. Reagan stared down the Soviet Union until it simply gave up and went home. Two hundred and fifty years. Forty-six men. Men who stormed beaches, split atoms, faced down nuclear annihilation over breakfast and then filed sensible paperwork about it afterward. And then, after all of that, the entire accumulated weight of American history, the most consequential democratic experiment the world has ever seen, produced this. A television review. No Mars landing. No cure for cancer. No Soviet empire dissolved before lunch. Just a man in the White House, in the year 2026, informing the internet that a CBS chat show host had no talent. That is what 250 years of American greatness built. America should be deeply, permanently ashamed of itself. If you like what you read, follow Gandalv on Substack: open.substack.com/pub/gandalv

Landed in Atlanta, and while walking through the terminal, I heard, 'Hey, isn't that Harada-san?' Turned around to find Tokido @tokidoki77 and Mago @magotto3 about to leave Atlanta. What a small world! It was fun chatting with them again after a while. Should've gotten a picture together.

@MADkurious @ChrisStoryArt Then don't be surprised when you get judged for having bad taste. I don't think anyone is telling you that you can't do something. You're just being criticized for it.

Genuine question @EmbarkStudios could I please revert back my option to go on the expedition, I want my stuff back and I don’t care about the skill points. Worst decision ever. Totally regret it.

@rogcastbaseball Most of the frustration I've heard from fans has been because there definitely is something there, it just isn't coming through.

Tigers fans have every right to be frustrated with how this season has gone. The injuries, the defense, the inconsistency, all fair criticism. But some of the reactions lately act like this organization is what it was from 1995-2004 or 2015-2021 Detroit literally made the postseason last year and has multiple young players either already in the majors or close to it. The expectations changed because the expectations were finally raised again. Criticize the roster construction. Criticize the defense. Criticize the lack of depth. But pretending there’s “nothing here” is just ignoring reality. It’s May, but can’t be measured on this damn app. It’s always some sort of dire straits. Good damn lord.

Trevor Bauer (トレバー・バウアー)
Hypothetical: You’re the owner of an MLB team. I offer to take $0 salary and sign a minor league contract and go to Low A. If the “he sucks now” crowd is right and I get lit up, you cut me, lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. If the “clubhouse cancer” crowd is right, you see it immediately at Low A and cut me. You lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. If there’s massive negative PR, which we already know there won’t be, you just cut me and move on. The story is dead in a couple days, you lose $0, and there’s no risk to the big league club. But, assuming none of those things happen, which they obviously wouldn’t, if you like what you see, you can promote me to AA and re evaluate me there. Then AAA. Then the big leagues. If I earn it, which you’d be 100% in control of deciding. If you don’t think I’m good enough, you lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. You could take away my “antics”. You could take away my social media. You could ask anything of me. If I don’t comply, you cut me, lose $0, and there’s no risk to the big league club. What logical reason is there to not do this? At worst, you cut me and there’s no risk to the big league club. At best, you get a Cy Young winner for $0 who you know can still pitch and could help the big league team if and when you see fit.

My feedback for @EmbarkStudios after playing season 4: - PLEASE MAKE TURBINE MORE COMMON. I PLAYED 6 Hours AND ONLY SAW IT TWICE - WAYYYY to many arc on Riven Tides. GADAMN - beachcoming boring AF - crash pad useless. It should stay and not timeout. Maybe a tramp would be a better addition - no new throwable for combat is lame - LOVE the new outfits - love the powered descender - map much smaller than I thought - disco party is pointless? Reward us if we’re giving up materials to make that happen BRUH WHERE TURBINE AT IM FURIOUS.

My very, very well-placed Masters source who is deep within the grounds of Augusta National explains what happens if you're caught with a cellphone at the tournament: "If you get caught with a cell phone, almost universally your tickets will be taken and the holder won't get them next year. "The person with them is not banned per se, but their tickets are lost. "That's why it is so risky to give someone a ticket ,  if they screw up, it's the ticket holder who pays the price. "Meta glasses are an emerging issue, and we've also found Oakley versions.  The private company that staffs the entrance gates to enforce club policy goes over that in their training. "Same with watches with phone capabilities.   I'm sure people get on with those all the time, they get caught when it rings or you see someone talking in to their wrist. "It's hard to differentiate a big electronic watch from a phone watch and keep the lines moving at the gates. That being said, there are people whose sole job is to find them on the course. "Trying to beat the system is a risky endeavor, not worth the risk."

Affordable, lightweight, vintage layering pieces for spring: — M-1951 Cold Weather wool shirt ($25 on eBay) — M-1965 US Army field jacket ($100 on eBay) — French chore coat ($50 on eBay) — Lee 101J ($100-350 on eBay, depending on the production year. IMO pre-70s is best)

between this and the holdo maneuver i feel like i need to sit down and talk to movie writers about military tactics. if you're going to introduce a "clever" maneuver to win a battle, you need to have a reason it wouldn't ordinarily work, or at least a reason nobody's thought of it before. and the answer probably shouldn't be "it's super dangerous" because war is already very dangerous. if a tactic works, people are going to use it. plus in any sort of modern or sci-fi setting, anything a ship with a crew can do can probably be copied by a specialized design that pilots itself or is piloted remotely. actual "clever" maneuvers on the battlefield are more likely to be opportunistic. a commander notices an unusual situation and improvises an unexpected solution. or you make use of local knowledge the other side doesn't have. or you read the terrain better and end up in a favorable battlefield position. or you notice a mistake the enemy made and exploit it ruthlessly. but in order for the maneuver to be cool, you need to explain why it isn't normally possible. otherwise you just make one side look sort of dumb for not seeing it coming.

This moment when a Hammerhead Corvette rams into one Star Destroyer, making it crash into another, and destroying the Shield Gate above Scarif at the end of Rogue One. Never even considered that this was a possibility, so it’s safe to say my mind was blown when I first watched this happen on opening night back in 2016.
